Deathconsciousness should be in discussion for one of the top albums of all time, its commonly played off as post-industrial doomgaze or nihilism in a can, but it deals with heavy themes such as suicide and death. instead of putting you in a third person view or putting you on the outside looking in like most albums do; Dan & Tim put you in the experience of someone with such a mindset. not just lyrically, but sonically as well. All the fear, uncertainty, irrationality, self hatred, etc. every thing down to those depressing ass track names. No other album conveys death, destruction, and hatred as well as Deathconsciousness has.

The real thrash metal big 4 is Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, and Kreator. Metallica are obvious just off of their 80s output. Slayer similarly. Sepultura and Kreator at the very least for being instrumental in the creation of black and death metal, but Sepultura's output from like '87-'91 is flawless and Kreator is one of the few 80s bands still releasing great music

Where was the love for Street Worms by Viagra Boys when the album first dropped in 2018? I saw it snuck onto your top 200 of the decade list but never got a formal review or mention elsewhere. Those boys are pumping out fiery tunes from Sweden and need more recognition than what they’ve gotten thus far.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are not funk rock. They are a rock band with a bassist that uses slap. DFA 1979, Gang Of Four, Joy Division, The Rapture etc. are all abundantly more deserving of the title.

Collecting physical music becomes much more enjoyable when you realize you only need to buy what you genuinely enjoy listening too. Not whatever album is an “essential for any collector”, or what you see posted all day in your favorite subreddit.

*Not to mention all the original music is incredible and fits the mood and themes of the show perfectly

Bojack Horseman is easily one of the best animated shows of all time. Maybe one of the best shows regardless of live action or animation. It’s blend of humour, talk of mental illness, and the incredibly dark subject matter through most of the episodes is ingenious. It contains some amazingly written characters, and some of the best episodes in television history. Easy 10/10

Lil Wayne still doesn't get the respect that he deserves from the public. Yes, the rap game respects him, but I feel like so many rap fans don't want to give him the credit he deserves simply because of his lyrical content. He's freestyled every verse in his career and his clever wordplay immortalizes him among the greatest to ever spit.

Bottomless Pit is better than The Money Store. They went harder without sacrificing catchiness, the album flows better I think and (while I love Get Got) the opener just sets the tone for the entire album. I think people love The Money Store more because it already has kind of a classic status in this genre.

A major cause of rock's dying state that needs to be brought up more is the fact that major festival planners refuse to spotlight new young bands in their lineups. Check the lineup of any popular rock festival, such as Rock A.M. Ring or Download, and it will be mostly filled with bands that have been established and popular for decades. While it could be argued that fans are the ones responsible for buying into these festivals, the planners are the ones playing it safe by using what has already been proven to bring success rather than presenting to audiences what could possibly be the next game-changers. Listening to music while riding a bike is an underrated method of consuming music. Especially when listening to something you find hard-hitting. You're out there experiencing art while life itself passes by, and the endorphins make the emotion produced from the music more palpable.

Jay-Z has the best discography out of any rapper closely followed up by MF Doom, Scarface, Ghostface and Outkast. Even the albums people consider his worst I still enjoy quite a bit (Kingdom Come, Blueprint 2.) Also Blueprint 1 is the best rap album of all time.

Each time Kanye comes up in my newsfeed his great discography loses a little bit of its luster in my eyes even though the music on wax hasn't changed at all. Although a listener may try to separate their opinion of an artist from their opinion of said artist's work, are there any musicians in the social media/ me too/ current era whose music you seem to enjoy less due to things outside of the music?

Billy Joel's Turnstiles is underrated. While The Stranger is often regarded as his best recorded and does indeed deserve all the praise it receives, Turnstiles is a more emotional album with no skips and some of his most beautiful songs, a love letter to his beloved New York City. Beyond fan favorites like Say Goodbye to Hollywood, New York State of Mind and Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway), there's James, I've Loved These Days and Summer, Highland Falls. Turnstiles needs more recognition.

M.I.A. is the most criminally underrated Hip Hop artist of all time, not only did she get she gain underground success and respect by rappers like Nas with Arula, she followed through with a successful sophomore release with Kala gaining commercial and critical success and releasing one of the greatest Political Hip Hop songs of all time with Paper Planes, incorporating Rap and Electropop successfully with Political messages. Not only that, but /\/\ /\ Y /\ was so horribly misunderstood, people have forgotten about it. The album was so ahead of its time, in an age where bombastic and experimental music is much more widely accepted in Pop and Rap music in the internet age, /\/\ /\ Y /\ is the unsung hero, and deserves to be revisited. If Yeezus was “5 years too early”, /\/\ /\ Y /\ is a decade too early. AIM was certainly not great but with all of that beforehand, M.I.A. is never mentioned in Female Rappers, not mentioned in Experimental Rap, and overall needs the praise she deserves.

When I first heard it, I had a crackpot theory that "Father of the Bride" was really a relationship story between Humanity and Mother Nature. The story was so vague because the characters portrayed through Ezra Koenig and Danielle Haim aren't real people, but embody Humanity and the Earth - with the album taking mostly humanity's perspective (since that's the perspective the listener would be most familiar with), all of the references to nature in the track titles and lyrics, and the Earth literally being the cover of the album. This also led me to believe the reason we never see the "Father" character is because the father of the bride (of nature) is God. Hence all of the references to religion/Christianity in the lyrics and the music. Bringing up the album cover again, the title "Father Of The Bride" hovers above and encircles the Earth - as if "in the heavens."

Insane Clown Posse's music is so underrated by most music critics! I mean, some of their songs are sick as f**k (i.e. 'Hokus Pokus' and 'Piggy Pie') and that 'Dark Carnival' concept is pretty interesting.

I know you've been avoiding me Anthony, (weak, fight me) but it's time for people to hear your opinion on this: People only dislike DAMN because they compare it to TPAB, and not because the album itself is mediocre or average. If you had only ever listened to DAMN, people would be rating it much higher, since the quality of the album is inarguable once you eliminate factors that arise solely due to the comparisons it inevitably receives to Kendrick's older work.

Your hatred of Lil Baby and Gunna is honestly way too much. Yes, they're not exactly great and I'm not the biggest fan of them (especially gunna), but almost every time they come up in a feature or something, you always end up shitting on them and the whole track even if they were pretty fine on it and dismiss them as "thugger clones"

Gentle Giant is up there with the best progressive rock bands of all time. Their unique mix of rock with various medieval-esque melodies and fantastic vocal harmonies has aged incredibly well to this day, and I'd argue that their albums are also up there with some of the best the genre has to offer. Must you feel only relevant emotions to the subject matter when enjoying music? Craig Finn is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. His lyrics are deeply literary, but he uses universal themes like youth, addiction, religion, etc and masterful storytelling to make them accessible to virtually any listener. He’s basically millennial Bob Dylan.
