Definitely FFS

Steve Flemming is based on a particularly slimy politician called Peter Mandelson who was one of the architects of Tony Blair's ascendancy, and unfortunately for you, he's just been made Ambassador to the USA.
rtkeane
gee is a fanny
rtkeane
say it everytime i see TTOI the world needs Malcom more than ever right now in every government
PrinceMorque
He’s my favourite character, I just love the dry bitterness. I can relate to him more than anyone else 😂
Joel Oates
I agree but mainly because of Peter Mannion
AdamMcAdamface
His memory and pronunciation of names is terrible, and somewhat adorable!

Here is why cyclists lose it with car drivers and other drivers. If you frequently are nearly hit by a vehicle then you'll be a bit annoyed. They have every right to use the roads and god forbid they hold up a precious car driver for a few seconds of their life before you can overtake them. The vehicle if it hits a cyclist may have a small dent in it but the cyclist will either be heading to hospital with serious injuries or they'll be dead. So drivers have a little more fucking consideration for fuck sake! (and I am a car driver as well as a pedestrian and a cyclist, a previous van and bus driver so I can see it from many sides).
AdamMcAdamface
Ah don't worry James, we've all been there!
Joe Thornhill
Oh yeah, THAT one I know. But I could've sworn they both said SFS.
Joe Thornhill
I don't like cyclists who ride on the pavement.
George Elsbury
It's FFS for fuck sake 😂
Joe Thornhill
I'm not completely sure about "S.F.S." either. "Stupid fucking/fat slut"?

I hate cyclists, I live in a small village in England and come here treating the place like its tour de france , their own private race track, they congregate outside the village pub of orange juice like a shit hells angels. the roads are very narrow and many hundred of years old and you cannot pass them I would rather tractors in front, they are sociopaths, in Lycra Rant over

I fucking love this show, although it always seems to trigger my latent Tourette's after watching an episode. Watching this and having in mind your dislike of politicians, it got me to thinking about Dr Mo Mowlam a former MP and Cabinet Secretary whose work on the Good Friday Agreement that brought a tragic and bloody era to an end.You should watch this wonderful interview with Gay Byrne, both sadly gone but still fondly remembered, captures just how special she was and just how far we've sunk when you look at the state of politics today. https://youtu.be/Nr1tcy4LbiM?si=wby2EUPBCq_H6ZDt

Do you want a huggle?
Mark Fraser
I didn’t really have an opinion before, but I think I’m pro cyclist now after reading this.
Curse These Metal Hands!
Funnily enough Steve Fleming is loosely based off of Peter Mandelson, who we'll be seeing a bit more of now he's just been appointed Ambassador to the US! Also annoying as cyclists are a lot of the time, they are pretty vulnerable on the road and people need to drive defensively and just chill out. Car owners in the press are annoying too, the way they speak you'd think they were a protected class. I say this as a car owner who hasn't ridden a bicycle in nearly 25 years.

one was drunk as one often is
AdamMcAdamface
That's quite a rant about nothing.
emu cat
Steve Flemming, the new oddball is Jim from Fri night dinner's older more dangerous brother..could be.
Geraint Harrison
Cyclists? It’s just those seats, if it didn’t feel like The Thing from Fantastic 4 was trying to molest you then I think they’d be a bit happier.
D R
You missed the Stephen Hawking joke 😅😅
K Bruun Kristensen
what an amazing episode! :)
Oliver
Ha, all the office team breaking out the champagne at the news of his "sacking" (I'm sure he'll be back). Have I got internalized Stockholm Syndrome or something? Cos I kinda felt sorry for him. But why should I given the way he treats people? The guy's a total bully. My own reaction kind of confused me on this one.

lol i know you won't / can't do this, given your busy schedule on things to watch, but i really think this show has so much re-watchability, personally i think i watched the whole series at least 4 or 5 times from start-to-finish before you even started it on this channel, and now im watching it again here too for a 5th and 6th time and i'm STILL enjoying it and STILL noticing new things - i know it probly doesn't merit a total rewatch on this channel (like the inbetweeners for example), but dude - even if you don't stream or youtube or patreon it - i do hope you watch this again one time in the future, because as much as it's enjoyable and great on a first watch through, somehow - the second watch through is even better
Oliver
Malcolm Tucker, a home life? Nah. When he leaves the office he flies into a cave somewhere and hangs upside down like a bat until he's back in the following day
Dave L
David Haig is a very underrated actor King Boomer, the guy who played the lego policeman lol, I am sure it must have popped up before on your radar but there is a sitcom called the Thin Blue Line that only had two series, Rowan Atkinson is in it but David Haig as Inspector DI Grim is truly fantastic, if you wanted to check him out on YouTube there are plenty of clips!
Jay
A good example was in the last episode (or episode before that?), where he apologises for shouting at Terri.
Fordy7169
Or a fan of any other Scottish football club? Fans of which dislike Rangers with a passion.
Richie
Never noticed this line from Terri before at the very end. When they're looking for wine: "We've got some wine from the tackling drugs helps to change lives launch". Also, probably only for us Brits, but I love it when Julius is pacing through Downing Street saying 'I'm Ian Botham. I'm walking on for hospice care."
Henry Graham
David Haig was an inspired addition to this show. He makes Steve Fleming so unbearable. He's such a brilliant actor.
Sam Evans
"Angela doesn't look happy" I hand on heart love that you can't remember anyones names. makes me laugh every time
Louise Miller
Favourite time of the week
Chris
Someone's not heard of one of the worlds greatest ever physicists
Mark Wootton
We're with Malcolm!
J
Malcolm has the best written lines but good god Glen has the funniest wit in the show
TC Elba
this ep confirmed malcom tucker as a celtic fan. top man
Dryfesands
In answer to your cyclists question I highly recommend you react to "Monkey Dust - The Cyclists" to get an idea of how they are perceived
AdamMcAdamface
I forgave your rant about cyclists, but not liking The Moody Blues? That's crossed the line!
Phil Robinson
As for cyclist argument - holy hell, you may have opened Pandora's Box. I'm staying out of it! Except to say, always amused by motorists who whinge and moan about cycle lanes being made, and then also whinging about them being on the main road. I don't think cyclists (who aren't dickheads) can win. That's all.
Phil Robinson
Yes, always thought that was a lovely detail. Malcolm isn't evil - he's just doing his job in the only way he knows how, that which has got him to where he is in the first place.
Jamie
He's also nice to the general staff... mostly
Phil Robinson
Incredible episode - and as ever, your reaction just gives me joy. One already has some sort of affection for Malcolm, and then Steve Fleming turns up and is absolutely oily, detestable, and has major anger issues, with none of Malcolm's sharp wit and "charm". It's that thing of where a feared boss leaves your workplace, to much rejoicing, only to be replaced by someone infinitely worse. Fear not however, it's not over by a long shot though!
Jamie
I don't drive or cycle, but seeing as one of you is in two tonnes of steal maybe that's the person who should be a bit more careful.
Rach
Also as someone who used to cycle a lot in London, one of the biggest dangers are OTHER CYCLISTS. The problem is they have this attitude that they don't have to obey things like red lights, give way signs etc. All very well but if, like me, you stop at a red light in the cycle box, they're liable to plough into the back of you because they didn't expect you to follow the law.
Rach
One detail I love in this show is how the one person Malcom has a genuine caring relationship with is his secretary. He's never nasty to her and she laughs at his jokes.
PrinceMorque
Listening to this while in public, people think I’m crazy when I start laughing 😂 Season 4 is my favourite of the series
