I think they just implied James doesn't like fish and chips lol.. not the English. We famously love fish and chips
Stretch
The only thing I dont get about this episode, is it seems to imply the English dont like fish n chips! Which is just bonkers!
Jason Scade
Excellent ep and reaction, Boomers. πππ At the 24:00 ish minute mark, did you not notice they were doing a Reservoir Dogs reference / homage... "Let's go to work.". When the girls were leaving the house, in slo-mo. Little Green Bag plays π π
Christy Hennessy
SlΓ‘inte motherfuckers!
Christy Hennessy
As a folicly challenged man myself, little island made me laugh hard π€£
Aaron
Na, 4 bags of chips is enough for any man
Aiden Carolan
Does king boomer recognise tommy tiernan from fe ted
Lawson Briggs
I reckon is you ordered the same as them, these days it would cost about Β£100 :(
Bikeaholic
the island of hair that KB looks destined for is officially known as Shearer's Island, after English footballer turned pundit, Alan Shearer π
Aaron
Now I fancy some fish n chips, but I can't order any as I live abroad, have to make do with some pizza
RobJFH
I haven't watched a series on this channel that I hadn't already seen. Tempted to do it with this, it's meant to be very good... I'll see how I get on with the interruptions lol!
Chris Lay
Never underestimate a lady who works full time in a fish and chip shop, those baskets full of chips they're lifting in and out of the fryer's all day can be bloody heavy. My mum ran one for years when I was a kid, 15 hour days every day and she used to beat my fulltime bricklayer stepdad in arm wrestles. Knocking out rottweilers wouldn't even be a challenge
Mangled Manatee
Michelle was like 34 when this was made as well and the rest are all late 20's early 30's.
Joe Thornhill
Glad I could help, my lord.
Joe Thornhill
People used it as a fetish (as they always do). it can still just be those satisfying YT videos of food being made or really manky stuff being cleaned and/or restored to pristine condition.
Joe Thornhill
The "shonk" of a chisel or the "swoosh" of a plane slicing a piece of wood. Ooh, yeah.
Mark Jones
Well spotted Boomer, that actor does have too many L's in his name, he spells it Llewellyn but it's more commonly spelt Llewelyn in Wales, it's a popular name as our last king was called Llewelyn, in Welsh 'LL' counts as just one letter of the alphabet and is pronounced.... well it's almost impossible to type the sound in English so I'm going to post a link to a video teaching you how to say it in the community tab! And I have some bad news, there's no Welsh word for Muppet, but the Welsh word for Puppet is Pyped, so I'm inventing a new word, I hereby declare the Welsh word for Muppet to now be MYPED!!!! π
Kezia Williamson
I love ASMR! Itβs really good when youβre anxious and helps me sleep too
Jamie
Jesus, chill.
Graeme Robertson
Also currently in another C4 'modern period' sitcom called Big Boys. He IS gay in that π
Graeme Robertson
Also in last year's Doctor Who Christmas special with Ncuti Gatwa
Rob G
Homophobia just like Islamophobia and being called a Nazi or a racist or transphobe et al is a modern day dead fuck now, these terms have been used so often by ultra progressive turds the guilt trip they want to enforce is dying day after day and thank fuck for that. Policing comedy is authoritarian by authoritarians. And we all know who the powers that be that hate the most, itβs people poking fun at people who think they should not be made fun of. Everything is game in comedy.
Adam
You might like the show called the young offenders
Adam Hale
just checked and the show covers the period around the Northern Ireland peace process including events from 94,you were close!ππ
Adam Hale
"no chicken" was being sarcastic cos he listed every last ingredient they put in the salad and shit....πππ
Adam
The dead stare at her asking do you know what AMSR is killed me. Also no just no its to creepy
Elliot Langhorn
The Irish language still exists, despite major decline. Scotland has a celtic Gaelic language as well as Scots which is Germanic and split off from old English
Adam Hale
yeh QB isn't having you on,ASMR is real!ππ€π€·ββοΈππ

In Scotland we have both Gaelic (pronounced gah-lic) and Scots. Gaelic has about 60,000 native speakers left, but Scots in the last census was at least 1.5mil - and that's just people who know they're speaking/understanding Scots (there's still a lot of "it's just slang/bad English" leftover from when the British arrived and tried to get rid of it).
Will
Gerry was being sarcastic when he said 'no chicken', but nobody got the joke!
SquaredSpekz
"No chicken" was a joke because he was saying no to any ingredient you'd put in a burger other than the meat.
James West
lol there's nothing worse than old people like that telling stories, where they give you pointless details throughout, and talk about pointless logistical stuff that adds nothing to the story. it's one of my personal pet peeves. that scene captures it pretty well. "i was tied to the radiator thermostat (with my new laces)...and the smaller fella...or maybe it was the taller one...there was only one inch in it anyway...maybe less"... lol...it's not even the monotone that's the real kicker for me, it's all the pointless additional bits of info...i used to know a guy like it "so i went to see my son yesterday, on the way there was a traffic cone blocking the road over on, uh...what was the street name again...uhm....yeah that was it...over on south-end street, so i had to take the back route, so instead of south end street...i went down...oh what was the street name again...leicester street...you know the one that has the blue house? and then my radio stopped working in the car, so i could hear the local church bells, and the sun was shining through the window so it was hard for me to see, and then i actually saw old lucy from the local tennis club, she was wearing a green dress..." 99% of what he said would tell NOTHING useful toward the story of him going to see his son lmfao, but it all found a way in the story somehow unrelated; but i went out with a girl just like michelle when i was 13-14, she reminds me of her so much, foul-mouthed, 'rude', 'hard', 'chavvy', etc. lol. for any young guys who are maybe watching; that's the exact kind of girl you want to date at that age, i've literally seen huge mounds of cow faeces that were less dirty
Rachel
Yes Queen Boomer is right Clare is Penelope in Bridgerton π
emu cat
Friday was prime Fish and Chips day due to fish on friday being a christian thing. A decent chippy would usually have a queue outside on the street.
rtkeane
real asmr is watching someone strip and paint a boat or car, fiberglass repairs, model making or power washing....
Craig McCulloch
what are you talking about? and i dont think lesbian homophbia exists... ive never seen complaints
Jay
I wish people would just admit that ASMR is a weird fetish, and nothing more.
Steve Moppett
I think constantly comparing this show to The Inbetweeners does the writer a disservice. The only similarity is the school setting. Derry Girls deals with a much heavier subject matter than the former. It's its own show, and deserves to be watched as such. The Inbetweeners is very funny, but that is where it begins and ends. The more you watch Derry Girls, the more you'll realise how everything is centred around The Troubles.
Paul Archibald
Such a good show, just gets better and better.
ThetaSigmaTheOriginal
The actor playing James is from a posh part of England. He might have some Welsh on his paternal side though. Llewellyn is a Welsh and can be traced back to celtic.
CONALL MCLAUGHLIN
Getting banned from your local chippy... Is one awful punishment π I don't think I've ever heard of a Derry person cooking on a Friday
Jamie
This show is great. Good pick.
Jamie
Could be lesbian homophoby.
Sam
yeah keep an eye out for Orla, she's always doing some wacky shit in the background
Brian Moran
Sounds much better than what QB told me lol thank you.
Brian Moran
I never said the person bending me over is a man.
Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)
Been quite enjoying this i havent ever watched it before so watching with you guys for first time
Joe Thornhill
What about Robert Llewellyn who plays Kryten? He's English.
Jamie
Got a tad homophoby at the beginning there
Joe Thornhill
Jenny is so Mrs Doyle's daughter if she ever moved to Derry. She's all I see when whenever she's on screen.
1234
We have a channel in the uk called bbc Alba, all the programmes are in Scottish Gaelic.
Joe Thornhill
ASMR isn't something people came up with. It stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. You know when you're listening to a song and a certain part (like a crescendo) happens that tickles your brain, like a satisfying pins and needls/tingly sensation at the back of your head and/or neck? Or even just people who sleep better when it's raining (especially on their bedroom window). That's ASMR.
Kieran1924
Love you and your content Boomer but man you are so slow at times π thank God the Queen is here to help you out
carrot
I listed to ASMR goats walking on a bridge once!.. I stopped as I was getting trolled :)
Beccy
