These last few chapters have been so nice, I'm loving the softness and comfortability that they have and here's to hoping Marcus doesn't bottle up his emotions and feelings of guilt and regret and they can communicate more!!

You make so many good points. And you’re right. Evan needs some more time to allow his fear and anger of Trent, and also the terror of the recent nightmare to pass, so that he no longer thinks about it without an immediate emotional response. He also needs his independence back. He might form an unhealthy attachment to Marcus, thinking he’ll protect him from harm all the time, when that’s impossible. Maybe not to an unhinged extreme, but emotionally he could. However, knowing their communication skills with each other, I think they will approach their future with as much reason as possible, so that they will achieve maximum happiness.

I see where this is going, and while I really want them to be together and happy, that probably wouldn't happen here. What happened would likely be a setback with Evan's intimacy issues. Even though he loves and trusts Marcus, what your brain knows and how your brain reacts are two different things. His brain may associate all the trauma that Trent caused with Marcus. Even if he doesn't blame Marcus (though Marcus blames himself), his brain may still make that connection on a subconscious level, preventing him from being intimate with Marcus. Or his brain could associate all the problems in his life with sex and intimacy, which is what he was doing before anyway, preventing him from being able to be intimate in that way. Boy doesn't need a dick; he needs a good therapist.
