Night City Legend Chapter 10
🕑 Added 2025-02-09 17:46:41 +0000 UTCMy own bank accounts were twenty thousand credits richer after ripping into the accounts of the Tyger Claws that were trying to rob us, I got to work quickly putting all the Sentry-Bots and other robotic machines of war into my spatial ring.
Then I either tore apart into smaller sections, or completely recycled all my machines and fabrication units into their base parts to be used at the mega factory I had planned for out in the badlands.
Then everything was loaded up on the ten large truck convoy with myself and the androids working to add several laser turrets atop the tops of the armored cargo trucks that were twice as large as a normal semi-truck that was pulling a load.
I wasn't fucking around at all, each of the ten cargo trucks had four laser turrets on each corner of it's cargo area with the cargo hold's having four inches of thick tungsten acting as protection for the internals.
Lastly, on the front truck and back trucks of the convoy line I had planned, I installed a missile pod system on each truck with fifty anti-tank missiles that had wired connections to the trucks so they couldn't be hacked or anything.
I literally wasn't going to change my shit being destroyed, fucked with, or otherwise stolen. As I knew a large cargo line of trucks regardless of the protection would be noted by the observation systems the various nomad groups had in the Badlands.
And I wasn't going to be paying a dozen 'tolls' while on the road and going off-road to where I wanted.
"The trucks are loaded up, we did see some giant rats the size of a large dog earlier outside of cordon though." 2B told me bluntly making my lips twitch as she continued.
"The giant rats were eating the chain link fencing you have set up, so we dealt with the rats and saved their corpses to be harvested for biomatter. As you seemed interest in that before."
I nodded before my face pinched as another mote of potential-filled my mind. As my 'Inspired Inventory' cheat got another point of potential I could use.
'Hmm, 'Mass Effect' Biotic Implant's, 'Nier Automata' Android programming, and bodybuilding, and Halo tech that includes, human and covenant technology.' I mused about the technology tree's I already went out of my way to get.
Not counting the technology of Fallout, Cyberpunk, Satisfactory, and some other stuff I basically figured out with the inclusion of the other technology knowledge that fell into my lap.
Having Inspired Inventor, inside of myself as my cheat didn't just mean I was relegated to the technology and ideals I was given by it downloading the information and knowledge within myself. It helped my mind become strong enough to connect technological tree's and to innovate my technology truly.
'I should just sit on this for a minute probably... I don't want to be in a rush to build god knows what.' I mused to myself as I took a breath and spoke. "Thank you 2B, I do need the biomass for some projects."
"Now... Where is that-" I paused as my looking for a new drink was taken away as my phone buzzed loudly and I looked over with a raised eyebrow to see Maine had messaged me.
[Hey Choomba, we are separated on two sides of the road like we asked. I volunteered to take point with a couple of my crew, and the rest would be watching the back as we agreed.]
I messaged Maine back quickly. [Good, the convoy will be pulling up to you guys in like ten minutes just outside the Trash Sea. Just don't freak out at the hardware lol.]
"2B, White! Get locked into the control system in the trucks! We are outta here!" I yelled out as I jumped back into the second truck to the front of the convoy which should be safer than being in the front truck.

"So where the hell is that slow bastard!" Rebecca whined loudly as she kicked her boots on the dashboard of the beloved armored car Maine was driving with Maine tilting his head to give Rebecca a glare past his shades.
"Boot's off the dash Becca, or I will take a percent of your pay for each minute I have to wipe any dust and dirt off my baby." He said with an easy smile that made Rebecca wolf whistle innocently as she put down her boots.
But still, Maine added on calmly and with a more business-like tone. "Jake said he will be here in ten minutes... And there he is there only a single minute late."
Rebecca, Maine, and Lucy became quiet as the convoy line came closer and crested over a small hill to get to them and Lucy said flatly. "I thought we were just escorting some cargo trucks... Not escorting a whole convoy that has all the materials to build the shell of a Hab Tower?"
Maine drew a hand across his face before he muttered. "I am more worried about the cargo itself... Those cargo trucks are too heavy to be using anti-gravity tech obviously. So what is he carrying that deserves a half dozen turrets on each truck."
The convoy slowed as they reached the Maine's crew and then Maine tilted his head to the side as he got another message sent directly to his neural implant with him grunting and saying. "Well, let's get this show going. Rebecca, you get onto the turret, Lucy you know what to do after all."
Lucy nodded knowing all to well that he meant that she needed to start pinging outwards for any approaching strong signals that could be any encroaching bandits or nomads that would hear about this convoy and will want to try their luck.
"Wait, why is my dumbass gonk of a brother in the back of the convoy anyway? He has the heavy weapons.?" Rebecca asked as Maine drove ahead of the convoy and Maine gave a grunt before he said bluntly.
"Because he IS a dumbass. And he can't shoot the client's shit if he is in the back of the convoy if he is properly shooting the gonks that come from the rear." Maine pointed out before adding in a small grunt. "Sasha, Dorio, and Kiwi will keep his shit in check either way."
Lucy who had been quiet for a minute spoke up quietly. "His entire convoy is literally physically wired together. I can't touch their internal systems at all similar, to how Vault Tech does their own nonsense."
And Maine chuckled and said calmly. "Good, back when I was in the army. Most of our shit when we went into the field was hard-wired whenever we could help it. After all, calling in an air strike against other combatants that could hack your radio and signals was a nightmare."
The ride continued until Lucy twitched before saying quickly. "Maine! A group of Nomads are coming in hot from Night City chasing us about a mile behind and gaining."
Maine's face tightened but he said calmly. "How many vehicles is the tribe made up of? And can you ladies pick up any abnormal hardware?"
But Maine's words were silenced as loud hissing noises rang out that made the combat veteran of the last Corporate War shudder as three missiles from the missile pod launched out of the front truck and left trails of smoke as the missiles turned through the air to head towards the convoy in the back.
Even from a mile away, Maine could feel and hear the explosions ringing out as Jake was clearly not playing any games in trying to make any 'friends' with the nomads.
"Sasha says the missiles were warnings with them exploding just past the cars. And the Nomads are pushing forward!" Lucy reported and Maine could hear more missiles shooting into the air before the signature hissing of laser weapons from the back of the convoy reached his ears.
A buzz rang out to Maine and he answered the call directed towards him and Dorio, his input/girlfriends voice hit his 'ears'. "Maine, some of the nomads peeled off to hit you guys near the side and front."
Maine looked out towards his driver mirror and he saw towards his left that yes there was indeed a trail of dust from off the road where a group of nomads were clearly making an attempt to cut off the convoy from the front.
"Rebecca light em up." Maine said as he took out a cigar and had his implants shut down his hearing as the heavy machine gun mounted atop their armored car roared to life as it began to shoot lines of rounds towards the line of nomads.
There was a lull as the nomads pulled back as getting hit with rockets, hundreds of laser bolts, and the front of the convoy being protected by more missile systems, turrets, and an overcompensating APC machine gun wasn't worth it.
[Jake- Nomads are pulling back. But they aren't going to be happy at losing some of their guys, so be careful heading back to Night City.]
Maine chuckled at seeing the message Jake sent him, with him shaking his head and recording a message to send back. "Thanks for the concern Choom, if you really care though. Rebecca needs a pay bump for 'emotional damage' and needs money to buy her meds."
Rebecca popped her head into the cabin and snapped out loudly. "Oi! I ain't on any meds! I am perfectly insane just the way I am, fuck you very much, Maine!"
"Becca I was trying to get him to pick up your damned bar tab! Your meds are you being too drunk to be your psycho ass haha!" Maine laughed as he rode the high of the brief combat that thankfully didn't lead to any of his crew being too in the line of fire.
Then the car almost drifted off the fucking road as Rebecca did the most mature thing possible in just kicking Maine in the back of the head from the turret hole she was standing up in.

"These people aren't worth the money you are paying them." Commander White's dry and highly unamused voice spoke out at how our convoy's camera's caught through the window of Maine's ride.
Rebecca kicking the back of Maine's shoulders as he had obviously said something that had set the midget psychopath of joy and murder off.
"They have character at least. And I can trust they won't fuck us over." I said with a grunt of mental effort as I was at work stripping the funds from that fucking nomad group that was wanted by Night City for a whole grocery list of sex and human trafficking charges.
And it was only when the Nomads had lost forty thousand Eddies did they fucking pull back after realizing that losing their lives and money to a giant convoy line that was obviously being highly protected.
To that end, my lips twitched as they even began bitching about us on the radio to the other nomad clans. Saying how it was a fucking corpo convoy playing the pig to eat a tiger with how we literally at least had a half dozen Netrunners scrambling and attacking their systems.
To say nothing of the heavy weapons systems we weren't shy about using at all as well.
And seeing Maine's reply about wanting a bigger payment to take care of Rebecca's 'meds' situation I couldn't help a laugh and I instantly wired him a thousand eddies and messaged him back.
[I can tell Rebecca runs off of a mix of manic energy that is occasionally watered down by booze, so use this to clear out her tab a bit... I am sure she has some.]
A minute later I couldn't help another laugh as Rebecca fucking climbed out of the car's turret, atop the car itself... And just flipped me off with both hands before turning around spanking her ass towards me and then blew me a kiss.
"Jake, is that a human mating ritual I am just unaware of?" 2B asked in confusion making me almost choke at the honest bewilderment in her tone.
"No... Maybe actually. Rebecca is literally insane so any signals she sends could be a red flag." I explained past coughing laughs.
2B's confusion went unanswered as I had no answer for the insanity that was Rebecca and it seems that the previous Nomad's very brutal warning served as warning enough for any other nomads and road bandits.
As we drove down the highway and into the Badlands where the road gave way to unpaved roads we took to get the point we had to go off-road to get to my large parcel of land. That was a full hour and a half from Night City or about a good hundred and thirty miles in the middle of fucking nowhere.
The rest of the drive was uneventful as the large convoy came to a stop on a large flat plateau where I had bought out the five hundred acre parcel of land for stupidly cheap due to the land being rough rugged rocky terrain that had literally zero fucking use and no utilities or infrastructure within eighty miles.
"Holy fuck! Are you here to make a mass graveyard or something! There isn't any water, mining operations, or power here at all!" Rebecca shouted out to me as I climbed out of my armored cargo truck's front.
I laughed before I said evenly. "Hell, you ain't wrong there Rebecca. But nah, I got plans for here Choom."
I popped my neck and as Maine came out of his car I called out as I approached. "Maine! I got everything in this one trip so I won't be needing you guys to guard me for another trip tomorrow. But I will be instead paying your crew to act as watchers for the next couple days while I get shit up."
Maine raised an eyebrow at me messing with our contract before he shrugged and said plainly. "We took a contract for services rendered and time spent. You still have us on retainer for twenty thousand eddies per day, if we spend the days sitting on our asses drinking a cold one while watching for bandits that's fine by me."
That... Was a good way to look at it. So I wired him over the rest of the ten thousand Eddies to account for the rest of the day and into tomorrow. "Alright, your crew can take over the ridge and road up to the plateau so you guys aren't in the way of the bots work."
I then reached into my bag at my side and then I tossed over a large box as I disguised getting the box from my spatial ring as reaching into a large duffel bag and Maine caught the box with a slight grunt of effort before laughing and offering a mechanical fist to me.
I pounded my own Gorilla Fist into his own as he tucked the twenty-four pack of beer under his other arm and I called out to him as he stepped away to get the rest of his crew to get out of our way as they got out of their other armored van that Dorio was driving.
"We got ice, food, water, more booze, and other shit in the back of the last truck. Just don't go fucking crazy as it's my own supplies!" I called out to the man who just gave me a thumbs up as he handed the beer over to Dorio and wrapped an arm around her waist.
There was a cheer from Pilar at seeing the 24 boxes of beer while I took a deep breath and synched up my Cyberdeck to the many drones, and autonomous forklifts as I climbed back into the cab of an armored cargo truck.
Loud rumbles rang out as all the cargo truck's cargo holds opened up with rails coming down to allow a crowd of Sentry Bots and other machines to come down and follow the building plan I had created. They began throwing up a huge thicker chainlink fence with the fence being hooked up to a strong battery to electrify it.
Which would act as a Faraday cage so that signals from within the enclosed area wouldn't leave nor could foreign signals enter the site.
Putting up the large fence was without issue, and then my machines began tearing up the rough rocky ground with Commander White using her powerful android mind to control dozens of digger machines to begin the process of laying down the foundation of the massive factory I was planning.
[Having us on retainer as you do large-scale building is going to be expensive and long term Choom.] I got a message from Maine and I could tell he didn't want to be tied to a boring ass-guarding job even if it paid decently.
So I just messaged him back easily. [The goal in hiring your crew is to get my own defenses in place to deal with any miscreants that come to cause trouble. Putting up the turret system will only take until tomorrow at worst. You just keep the road under control.]
And I got a thumbs up in return before I got another message from Maine which was friendlier at least as he asked. [So Doc, you got any free advice for a man getting the shakes after installing some new hardware? Some immuno-suppressive drugs or treatments?]
I paused at seeing that message, as I sincerely didn't see Maine as being the type to ask for advice especially when it came to his hardware. But it was likely Dorio pushed him to ask after seeing how well Sasha's new implants were settling into her body.
So I messaged him back with a shrug. [Implant's are not a one-size-fits-all all-thing Maine. Some people's nerves can't even handle a simple Neural Port and have to basically be full organic even in this world. Besides just a person not synching well with implants or too many. Some implants just aren't made well, or that particular make or model fits the patient.]
After a moment I messaged again. [The worst thing you can be doing is slapping random shit you get from a Ripper Doc that belonged to someone else inside of yourself. As their biometric data will interfere with your own and god knows if that Ripper Doc even cleaned the implant literally and figuratively by wiping out the previous user's data.]
There was a pause before Maine messaged me again. [When you have time, could you give me a look over Doc? I can pay for your time obviously.]
I frowned at that... Before I brushed a hand across my face and shrugged messaging him back. [Fuck it, I am waiting for the machines to do everything right now. You get your crew together. I will draw up biometric data sheets for them, tell them what is wrong with their implants and what would best fit them. But I want to do some non-invasive scans of the implants and download their implant's data in return.]
There were a couple of minutes before Maine messaged back. [Kiwi, and Lucy refused. You still want to do it?]
I sighed a bit frustrated as getting scans of Lucy's very powerful prototype Cyberdeck would have been a boon to say the least. But I just messaged back. [A bit frustrating not getting to look at their Cyberdecks, but very well.]
I got up and after a moment of thought, I sent 2B a message to follow me even if it would slow down production. I wanted a bodyguard regardless of anything happening even if I had an energy shield and a Mass Effect weapon that could deal with everyone on Maine's crew.
"You seem rather friendly with these mercenaries. Or are you just enjoying human contact Jake?" 2B spoke over the sound of dozens of large machines working at high speed to tear apart the ground for the ten-meter-thick concrete platform foundation that was going to be placed.
I nodded and said honestly. "Yup, it can't hurt to have more human contact... After all, it would fucking suck having to save the world without any other friends besides you two and any other androids I make."
2B didn't exactly have an answer for that, and we just made our way to the smaller camp that Maine made by sticking a couple of poles that had tarps connected to the poles through the windows of his car so that they could have some shade.
"Yo Doc!" Rebecca cheered holding out her can of beer towards me making me roll my eyes as she hopped to her feet. "So you ready to get some... Deep and intensive scans in me!" She teased as she lifted up her shirt with a fucking goblin-like grin.
I gave a slight chuckle and said with a shake of the head. "Yeah, yeah don't be in a rush to take off your clothes, your brother is just over there."
Pilar the lanky fuck with a set of monovision implants hearing my words just wolf-whistled and called out. "Please for the love of god Doc! Take that crazy bitch off my hands and make her a housewife haha!"
Rebecca hearing her brother's words spun on her heel with Pilar screaming as he dove behind Maine's car when Rebecca whipped a pistol out of her jacket and began shooting over Maine's car while screaming...
The most horrid, lewd, disgusting, racial, and personal slurs, I have ever heard from a person. Let alone a woman.
Then, with the same gremlin smile on her face. Rebecca just tilted her head to the side and said 'innocently'. "Sorry, I had no idea what he just said. So whatcha think doc? How's my skin looking?" She asked clearly flirting a bit...
At least I might have been somewhat interested in the flirting if her gun wasn't still in her fucking hand and pointing at my junk.
"Positively glowing." I snarked back with Rebecca cackling as I took out my Satisfactory build gun from under my jacket that would be able to take in all of Rebecca's biometric and implant data.
"Hand please, and I will need to link to your neural port." I said taking Rebecca's organic hand that wasn't those giant mechanical hands she got later in Cyberpunk Edgerunners so she could handle a massive shotgun.
"Whatever you say doc." Rebecca said easily holding out her hand to me and with a hum I held the Satisfactory build gun over her hand before she gave a slight hiss of pain as powerful heat bloomed over hand as the build gun's powerful sensors captured her biological data.
Then the DNA taken from there would be extrapolated to measure out her biological limits for implants as the sensors in the build gun at my direction began running simulations on her white blood cell count to account for her immune response to more implants.
But in the meantime, I moved over to take real cyberware data with a hum as I jacked a cord into Rebecca's neural port at the side of her neck.
After a moment of collecting and looking over the data, I raised an eyebrow and said with a hum. "Your eyes and EMP protection nano weave skin, are first-time implants which means they are synched up to you without issue... Besides a bit of light silver poisoning which accounts for why your skin is so blue... And a growth hormone imbalance."
There was a tense silence before Rebecca whispered with horror. "Wait... My implant is the reason I am part of the itty bitty titty committee!"
I looked up at Rebecca's horror-filled gaze and blinked and said flatly. "Rebecca, they don't let kids and teens get nano weave, and subdermal implants for a reason. It basically stops all-natural growth as the body can't grow past the implant that's their skin and blocking the muscle layer."
Rebecca lunged forward to grab me but before she could reach me. 2B smacked her hands aside and pushed her back several meters with her rolling across the dirt. 'Ah hell.' I thought as I saw Maine's crew tense up for a second.
But that tension utterly eroded as Rebecca screamed out. "Nooo! Gimmie my titties! I don't want to be the cutting board of the Moxie Gang! The landing strip of this crew! My brother and Maine have bigger tits than me!"
Rebecca's howl of anguish aimed at me made me flush as Maine's crew all looked at me... All silently judging me, and I couldn't help but feel like they were projecting the question. 'Well? Are you going to give her, the titties she deserves?'
I brought a hand across my face as I heard Pilar howling with laughter from behind the cover of Maine and his car. And I took a deep... Several deep breaths before I spoke as clinically as I could.
"In order to enable your body to properly reach it's full hormonal growth projection, you would need to be sedated and kept in a growth tank for at least a week as a hormone treatment is administered to you along with your EMP weave being messed with."
And without a fucking moment of hesitation Rebecca shot up and stomped over with 2B moving to partially stand in her way so she couldn't actually reach me... And after a moment of glaring into 2B's covered eyes. Rebecca nodded as though some silent message was conveyed.
While 2B just tilted her head in utter confusion as Rebecca looked to me with a fierce light in her eyes as she declared. "Make me a big titty short stack! In return, I will let you give my new honking honkers a joy ride if you do good Choom!"
Knowing all too well that Rebecca had literally zero fucking shame I just took a deep breath and said flatly. "I haven't set up my full lab obviously. So I can't do that currently. In either case, your implants besides the growth issues are fitting with you well. Which isn't surprising seeing as you only have the skin weave and the eye implants."
I waved Rebecca off who looked ready to throttle me for getting her hopes up and I called out. "Next! Someone please next!" I called out with mounting desperation.
Sasha then came over with Rebecca poking her fingers at me as though to say she was watching me... And waiting for her to become a big titty short stack apparently.
Short stack goblin mode Rebecca... The universe wouldn't know what would hit it.
"So, it's been a few days Jake." Sasha said with a small smile.
"Yes it has been, have you had any issues with the new implant's bone, joint, and ligament replacements?" I asked curiously with her face going a bit pink before she said wryly.
"The hip joint's vibrate when I put too much strain on them when I used my Reinforced Tendon's and Ankle Booster." She explained.
I paused wondering what the deal was... Before my lips twitched as I realized she meant that her lower body would basically become a giant vibrator to her reproductive organs.
"I see... Well, I can easily tone that down I suppose." I said as clinically as I could and then I offered my hand to her that had my neural port cable so I could access her implants data and settings.
She took the offered cable and was going to put it into her neck before she paused and asked quietly. "Actually doc... Could you like, just set it up as an app feature so I could control that uhm... Feature of the hip module."
I looked at Sasha with a deadpan as I wondered when it was going to happen. When was I going to be asked to give a man a giant dick implant or something to make them feel like more of a man or something stupid.
With a mental flex, I moved a copy of my own control software to her neural system so she could mentally control it with some features that were quickly removed so she couldn't kill herself on accident.
And I said flatly. "There you perverted wench... You are even worse than Rebecca who is at least honest with her depravity."
Sasha's eyes widened at my blatant words and for a moment she looked angry before I added flatly. "Now, I have to know that at any time... Literally at any time I am talking with you, or you are working for me. You could be getting off by having that damn implant vibrating away. Now shoo pervert."
She just stared at me before she blinked and her flush returned and she nodded before saying. "Didn't think about it that way... But thanks, that will make all the boring ass meetings with corpo's more enjoyable."
With that Sasha strolled off with her hips having a bit more of a roll than usual making me mentally scream as I knew the girls were interested in me due to me being a 'genius' ripper doc/scientist who could put a half-dead girl back together without any issue.
And in this world, having a pocket miracle healer who could fix you after rupturing half your organs and more than your bones being broken? He was definitely a man worth going after to say the least.
Thankfully Pilar was... Normal for a given word and only asked quietly if I had a 'cream' for a certain rash he had. So I just gave him a general shot to get rid of the... Litany of venereal diseases he had from fucking whores for the last two decades of his life.
As Pilar was surprisingly literally in his late thirties so he had plenty of time to collect a whole rap sheet of STD's and other goodies. I was honestly surprised he wasn't on several watch lists or Umbrella wasn't trying to catch him.
As my sensors picked up some entirely NEW!! STD's he was patient zero of.
Dorio afterward's was fine, she had some issues with one of her subdermal plates on her back area that needed to be adjusted but that was easy enough for me to do then and there.
And then it was time for Maine himself who made Dorio walk back over to the rest of the crew so we could have some privacy.
"So Doc, whatcha got for me?" He asked gruffly and I looked at my biometric data I had collected on Maine before I said utterly bluntly.
"Your heavy combat implant's aren't calibrated for your enhanced frame, they are running hot as fuck as they are set to be running on a more ganic meatsuit. The problem of a Ripper Doc who although cares about their patient, doesn't work with heavy spec ops military implants." I spoke as I read through the data sheet's I collected.
"Let's say you are in a video game Maine, right now you have a hundred point's of equipment load in implants you can take inside of your body." I began before taking a deep breath.
"Right now you are a tank, heavy, slow, big, and deals all the punishment. But choomba, on the other hand all your implants are set for a Tyger Claw or Arasaka Assassin build while you are a Militech juggernaut and that assassin load is pushing your fat rolling ass too hard."
I took a breath before I said honestly. "I am going to need to remove and recalibrate several of your implants as there is literal gaps where your Reinforced Skeleton, and the implants are jostling around. Which is a major point to your cyber psychosis."
There was a heavy pause as Maine glared down at me before he growled. "I am not going cyberpyscho choom..."
And without a moment of hesitation, I turned around the holographic screen towards Maine and pointed at several points in the last several days where his neurological signals were heavily manipulated by his overabundance of implants.
"Maine, you literally are going cyberpyscho. I can see through your eye implants and see where your brain's squishy bit's are conjuring up shit your hardware is picking up due to, too much input signals. You need to downgrade Maine, or at least get your shit heavily synchronized so it takes the load off."
I took a breath and then added. "Or if you get a Cyberdeck, you can offload a lot of your implant's overabundance of data that's frying your brain matter to the cyberdeck so a slaved virtual intelligence can sort the data before sending it off to your actual brain."
Maine chewed on his cheek as he muttered. "I wanted to get a Sandy... Not a cyberdeck."
I was this close to just kicking the tall lug in the shin for being a dumbass but I just shrugged and said plainly. "Those are the options I see for a solution to your issues. Anyway, I am going to get back to my own project now."
I went back past the covering fence and saw after the hour I spent messing with Maine's crew, the dozen digger's had already dug out a good portion of the foundation already which was great progress.
But then again, measuring human speeds in construction when I had an android controlling a dozen heavy machines was a fools though process. In either case, I went over to the machines I had working already to get the plast-steel concrete that would be making up the foundation for the mega factory I had planned.
As the goal for the mega factory here was to be my main base, which would be supplying, manufacturing, and storing all the materials I would need to put up the Space Elevator.
'Hmm... Thankfully carbon nanotubes and alloyed special materials are possible to make now with such a large setup. It will take probably a good week to manufacture all the parts and materials for the Space Elevator though.' I mused to myself.
That was just the base Space Elevator though, with the space station in orbit being as bare bones as possible and the space elevator only having its railgun elevator and magnetic brakes active.
"You wouldn't be able to use the Space Elevator with the G-forces it would put on your body Jake." Commander White noted calmly as she sat next to me and looked at my blue prints and info sheets.
I grunted in agreement before I said. "Hmm, you are correct nominally. I can create a gel pod that will absorb a good deal of the G-forces put on myself. Though it would be better to just upgrade the Space Elevator so it can handle more sensitive materials and loads."
I looked over Commander White and said. "So what's your own projections for the foundation to be done so I can set down some plasma generators and such?"
The plasma generators were the Pinch Fusion Reactors that the Covenant would use for their warships but mine would be heavily scaled down as getting ahold of deuterium and tritium even in this lawless land was a pain in the ass.
"I will have the foundation treated, and ready for you to build upon within two days barring any incidents Jake." White said calmly.
I hummed before adding. "Alright, well I should have the machines put up the guard towers. You are doing a good job for me, Commander White." I made sure to praise her which made the android give a small smile before she refocused on working with the machines.
I myself closed my eyes with a small sigh as I synched myself with my cyberdeck and I began controlling various machines to get to work. As to say the least... There was all too much to do already.

Time passed by, work was being done at a good pace and the only issues we had was a slight hiccup of Maine and his crew needing to deal with some mole rats that came up to their area after smelling food cooking from the BBQ they had going.
And Maine's crew left me to work unimpeded for the next couple of days besides Rebecca climbing atop a guard tower and screaming like Tarzan or something, as she hung partly off the tower with a machine gun in hand.
Just... Typical Rebecca things honestly.
In that two days we got the large foundation platform done and treated so I could start putting shit down, along with the first layer of a security field. Then I set down the assemblers and constructors to begin the fabrication of large metal plates that would then be used to build the shell for the manufacturing section of the factory.
As I obviously didn't want my factory exposed to the elements and any asshole with a drone/satellite.
[Maine I thank you for the escort and for keeping the local wildlife out of my build site, however, I think tomorrow will be the last day I need you all... And you shits are eating all my food! So here is tomorrow's pay and tomorrow night your crew has completed the contract.] I messaged Main in particular.
And a minute later he sent me a thumbs up emoji as the next twenty thousand eddies hit his account and then he messaged me back. [Our new Edgerunner Lucy wants a word with you about an implant. Want me to send her into the factory shell?]
I quickly messaged him back. [No! The factory is set to fry any intruders with EMP waves to fry their implants even if they have an EMP skin weave like Rebecca does. I will meet her just outside so you guys can watch as well.]
I got up from my chair with a slight grunt and called out to 2B. "Got a 'private' meeting with Lucy, if you wanna chaperone just stay out of sight." With the battle android just nodding and following behind me and stayed near the door of the factory as I headed out.
Lucy herself was leaning on the raised road guards I had installed so no one could drive a truck or something through the front of my factory. As Maine's crew already had been warned not to lean on the factory itself. As the shell was electrified to keep the Faraday Cage active.
"So, are you building a factory or a black site?" Lucy asked with a bit of a hard expression and I raised an eyebrow at her tone before recalling this out-of-nowhere station was probably hitting her trauma button connected to how her father basically sold her to Arasaka.
I shrugged and said honestly. "Blacksite for my own projects. I rather not have anyone messing with me... Nor deal with the typical mega corpo bullshit and them trying to fuck me over."
There was a pause before I took a breath and said calmly. "So what did you actually want to talk to me about Lucy. You don't want me looking into that fancy prototype Arasaka cyberdeck you got. So what did you actually want?"
Her face darkened and I saw how her hands tense with myself wondering I pushed her to far. But she took a deep breath and asked bluntly. "Are you going to sell my information to Arasaka?"
To which I just blinked and shook my head as I said clearly. "Hell no, you overestimate your value compared to how much I myself hate the mega corporation's Lucy. I have zero plan to sell you out." I ended stated firmly.
There was a pause before she asked quietly. "How much do you actually know?"
I gave Lucy an introspective look as I considered what to actually say. Then I spoke slowly and with consideration. "I know that as a child you were basically sold to Arasaka and they used you and several other skilled children as netrunners to go past the Black Wall."
I shook my head as I stated plainly. "Yeah, I myself am a scientist and engineer. I don't see people's lives as a simple number on a spread sheet to send to a list of company share holders. So your secret is safe with me."
I shifted off the road block I myself was leaning on, and with my hands in my pocket's I just shrugged and said. "You guys have a good night. And you got a good small new family there Lucy."
Lucy herself was quiet as she watched me leave and return to the safety of the factory and once I was inside the factory 2B closed in and muttered. "The cameras watching the road down the hill reported a group of what you marked as Giant Ant's making their way up."
I groaned with fucking annoyance. It was just my luck to have my future base built around a giant ant colony. "Fucking Vault Tech and their FEV bullshit." I cursed as I drew a hand across my face before pausing as actually...
Having a colony of Giant Ant's in the area could be good actually. A quickly growing mass of biomass I can collect, and hell I could put mind control implants and other nasty shit in them without the issues that came with that kind of implants being used on humans.
I may not be able to have a shark with freakin laser beams on its head... But having an army of ants with plasma launchers built into their heads and being able to naturally breath fire was a close damned second!
I then took out my phone and messaged Maine. [Maine, I need you and the crew to clear out. A group of Giant Ants are coming up to investigate all the noise we have been making, and I don't want them getting spooked before I can find their nest and deal with them.]
And then Maine sent another thumbs up before I watched through the security camera's as his crew's two vehicles peeled out quickly and headed off with myself looking through the hidden camera's we had already hidden around the road to check those Giant Ants.
'Yup... Those are the fire breathing ants.' I mused taking in the fucking horse-sized giant ants that were quickly skittering across the ground towards my factory. But I wasn't worried about them with how the factory was already electrified and I had a several-meter-thick foundation so they coudn't dig under it.
"Fuck it... I got a good base of technological growth with Covenant and Mass Effect higher end technology. I need biological bullshit to deal with FEV and Resident Evil shit." I muttered as I pushed that mote of potential in my mind towards the concept of Biological manipulation.
The information of 'Biological Manipulation' flowed into my mind and soon enough I realized all too quickly that the tech tree of biology was synching up with my other tech tree's and making them stronger as I given information on Covenant methods of how they used a plague to cut down the Ungoy.
Not only that but my mind was putting together how to make my own FEV strain for myself and various methods of controlling biological forms enhanced evolution and how human's and other living beings could more safely and throughly take implants.
"Fucking hell... Alright I got a plan." I grunted to myself as I moved towards the assembly area of my factory.
I hurried over to the fabricators and using the dead mole rat's biomass that 2B and Commander White collected I began engineering a quick and dirty biological virus that would put any thing it infects into a stupor and be highly non-reactive as the virus burned itself out as it could only survive within a very special nutrient solution.
As unlike Umbrella or Vault Tech, I wasn't fucking stupid enough to make a virus or bioweapon without a easy kill switch or inbuilt issues.
So not only did the virus have that issue of needing a special nutrient solution to survive and really reproduce. It's hurried formation and creation also played a part in it's exceedingly short lifespan.
Even then however, it took me a good fifteen minutes to get the retrovirus stable in several tanks that would spray outside of the factory where the ant's were starting to sniff around.
So with 2B's help we moved the cannister's containing the virus over to the front section and I was now internally musing how I needed to install biological piping into the factory to act as another line of defense.
Hell just using bioweapons themselves was on the table now. I could take a Supermutant, and make them into the equilvalent of a 40K Ork if I wanted... That would be a terrible thing to do obviously.
The ant's at catching the sound of the large metal grates near the front of the factory opening came a running towards it but we didn't open the door fully and I just put on a gas mask that was sealed as the virus coudn't survive in the air for long at all.
"Alright, lets leave the virus to knock the ant's out. I need to work on a pheromone solution to slave them to a series of biological computers that will act as the ant's controller unit." I said muffledly through my mask.

Half a day later there was a large hole in the side of the next mountain over as I had used Assaultron's to conduct surgery on the 'domesticated' Giant Ant's to stick biological versions of minor intelligence-enhancing chips and behavioral modifiers into the ants.
"Making a massive Giant Ant colony next to your base is a bold move Jake." Commander White noted calmly.
I grunted in agreement before I said calmly. "A horde of fuck ass mad angry giant fire breathing ant's will be a powerful deterrent for casual assholes coming to mess with us when I get the Space Elevator up."
I looked at Commander White and said calmly. "How is the reactor placements going? Any issues with the Detrium?"
Commander White shook her head. "The reactions are well within control even if I will likely need more deuterium and tritium if we are running the Space Elevator and the assembly fields."
"And... If you plan to use the hardlight shields, we will need to shut off either the Space Elevator or the assembly fields Jake. We need more isotopes if we are to continue the use of the reactors." Commander White explained making me grunt in annoyance.
As suprise suprise, getting ahold of deuterium and tritium when they were used to make nuclear weapons of true mass destruction made getting the materials annoying to say the least.
"Fine... I need to remain in contact with Nightcity it seems. Have much money have you ladies collected from your hacking ventures?" I asked.
Commander White raised an eyebrow and stated. "A hundred and fifteen thousand eddies. Even that is barely enough to get large amounts of both deuterium and tritium delivered to us."
I brushed my hand across my face as I considered the options I had. Both Tritium and Deuterium could be collected in trace amounts from water sources which is what I had done in getting the amount I had already gotten from the heavily contaminated ocean.
But I needed a large amount that wasn't contaminated and preferably already enriched.
"Hmm... White you need to look into the local nuclear reactors, hack into their info stores and see if they are doing illegal dumping. We can collect their waste to make our own large amounts of Trituium from enriching Lithium."
With White adding on. "You will need a large water refinery to extract the Deuterium from a river or the ocean. It won't be subtle Jake, hence why we likely need to buy it outright."
I grunted in agreement before I took a breath and got online with my Cyberdeck as I knew Maine being in the game might have some contacts I could use.
[Whatcha need choom?] Maine's carefree voice rang out on the other end of the call I made.
[I was wondering if you had any contacts that could connect me to some chemical suppliers. I need large amounts of Deuterium as having both Deuterium and Tritium being collected here will trip too many red flags off.]
Deuterium itself wasn't at all a hard chemical isotope to get a hold of. It was found in hydrogen atom alignments and whereas Trituim cost around thirty thousand Eddies per gram. Deuterium literally cost only 13-16 depending on the density of the heavy water it came in.
It was just a pain in the ass to get a large amount of it at the proper distillation when we already were running out of power.
Maine gave a grunt of thought before he said. [Off the top of my head no, shoot me a finders fee, and I will ask a few buddies at the Afterlife and I will get back to you as I will need to look into some Corpo scum bags that will let some shit fall off the back of a truck you understand?]
I grunted in agreement and sent Maine five thousand eddies knowing he was going to need to grease some hands to get the info I needed. [Sent a finder's fee. And when you find a client for me to connect to in order to buy, I will pay that again.]
Maine then cut the call as we weren't shooting the shit as it was obviously a business call and I just brushed a hand across my face before taking a deep breath. "Alright, in order to triple our energy production and maintain that energy production I am going to need five hundred pounds of Lithium Bicarbonate, with each pound costing 1300 Eddies."
I looked at 2B who was sitting across from me and said honestly. "2B think you could hit a mining truck or something? I am not spending six hundred and fifty thousand eddies on just the precursor fuel to make the Tritium."
2B raised an eyebrow and said flatly. "You want me to rob a truck filled with valuable resources that a mega-corporation will likely be furious at losing?"
I groaned and then grumbled. "No... Yes? I just need the damned Lithium and all our power production for the next several decades will be dealt with. And I am more than willing to steal a million's worth of Lithium from some asshole Mega-corp."
There was a pause before Commander White interjected. "Jake we have enough going on right now. You should work to create a couple more YoRHa, Defender, Executionor and Operator units to share the load of things that need to be done."
An exhale escaped me before I nodded and got up with a grunt of effort with myself thinking. 'Three operator units, a defender unit to oversee the defense of the base, and three more Executionor units for combat... I will also make Devola and Popola as well.' I thought.
As even if Commander White got pissed at seeing me make Devola and Popola. She could get over it. The two red-haired androids obviously needed ALL the hugs.

Work on the YoRHa models went well and above what I could initially ask for as using the implant's I had previously gathered. I installed...
All the combat and otherwise potent implant's into the Androids when applicable. The defender and executioner models had sandy's and extremely high processing power to handle their heightened reaction speed and movements.
Along with knee and arm cannon's that were tied to independent aiming systems so they could shoot at enemies while the androids focused on fighting more with melee and ranged options.
Likewise, for the Operator Units, they got the best processor units I could make so they could remotely control dozens of turrets, sentry bots, assaultron's and any other robotic unit I decided to make in the future.
As much as I wanted to have them remotely controlling whole legions of Titanfall- Titans on their own each. I needed to save and use the materials I had for the Space Elevator project.
And I spent a solid day working exclusively on the the new androids with them coming online without any issues with them latching onto Commander White as although they didn't have true personality and logic downloads. They were still YoRHa androids.
Now... I was working on my own personal project. In making Devola and Popola, as I was well aware I was going a bit stir crazy after working alone and hiding away from other human contact.
Due to how crazy people were in this universe. As well as the simple reality that I was very aware that Kiwi for example had no qualms about selling her teammate's out for example.
Rebecca may be a ride-or-die babe who would happily do the craziest shit with her team and man. But the vast majority of people in this world were very much focused on earning for themselves exclusively.
Devola and Popola both had their personalities and lives memories downloaded into them as I was formatting their creation process and I was well aware that they were likely going to be... Rather intense as they awoke to find humanity was alive and 'well' in this universe.
"Well, time to face the music." I muttered as I saw Devola and Popola waking up from their positions laid out across my padded work table.
"What... Where are-" Devola who had the more ornate crimson hair spoke softly as her green colored eye's blinked as she quickly took in her surroundings.
I meanwhile was seated across the room relaxing on a chair as I waited for Devola and Popola to get their bearings.
Popola who had very straight crimson hair, locked onto me rather than Devola who was seemingly more worried about where they were right now.
"Who are you?" Popola asked brusquely as she took in my form with a slight frown.
I took a deep breath before I pointed at a laptop next to them. "My name is Jake Bariss, and I am a human who has been given special abilities and I have downloaded your minds into new bodies in order to aid and be used to protect humanity."
As they both stilled and looked ready to swiftly deny my words but I continued as I said calmly. "We already have several YoRHa android models working for us here. There is no Machine Army here on this Earth yet, but I need you both to look at the data collection Commander White has put together."
The two 'twin' android models shared a look before Devola gave me a measured look before she asked bluntly. "May I inspect you to see if you are telling the truth on your status as a human?"
And without any hesitation, I nodded and held out a hand over to them with Devola and Popola's eyes landing on my 'flesh' with Devola coming over with a scowl going across her face as she took my hand and said flatly. "This is a mechanical hand. Not at all helping your case here."
I nodded and with a wry smile I took a syringe from my pocket as I knew this was going to come and I held it out to her. "Go ahead and take a blood sample from wherever you want. I am human, but humanity on this earth uses a lot of implants for various reasons."
Devola took the offered needle from my hands with her pulling up my shirt to inspect my form before she somehow found a crease in the subdermal armor I had under my skin and carefully stabbed into me and pulled out some nice rich red blood.
The two android's eyes literally zoomed in on the blood and I saw them still again as they could tell my blood was... Well, actually blood and not the blood/oil substitute that androids typically used.
"I am sure you both have... A lot of questions, so I heavily suggest that you go through the information packet download Commander White has set up and then I will happily take any questions you both have." I said kindly.
As Devola and Popola looked downright lost on what they should do. And hearing my words they blinked with their eye's unfocusing and undilating with them sharing a look before Popola nodded and said quietly. "Very well."
The two of them went over to the laptop and I watched as they held hands as they both jacked themselves into the computer with the new neural port's. I made sure to give all androids as they needed them to interface with a good bit of the tech of this world.
And there was a brief wait as the girls took in the information download, internalizing all the terrible reality that was the version of humanity that was more likely to kill itself off with atomic warfare, and bioweapons than actually properly reach into the stars.
Not to mention the terrible... The utterly terrible reality that was the Batarian race. A fully space-faring civilization that was very much a fan of slavery, war crimes, and other horrors coming to Earth within the next couple of years.
Oh and couldn't forget the Reapers as well. A super advanced tide of 'machine lifeforms' that was going to come and harvest all of humanity and all the other life in the galaxy as well.
That information downloaded to the twins was heavy as they came out of it with dull expressions before they looked at me with anxiety clear in their eyes.
"Humanity is... So horrible to its own kind, to its own world, and now we need to help save them again?" Devola whispered with an unreadable expression.
I gave a wry smile before I cut into their little mental breakdown. "Save them? Of course, but saving them only requires pruning the evils of the garden of humanity. The Earth can be healed, and so can its people once the mega-corporations are decapitated."
Once I had the Space Station, and its resulting space station completed. I would be free to be shoving out MAC-Canons and other Orbital Defense systems that will be used as my hammer and anvil to dealing with the Mega-Corporations. To say nothing of the Batarian's etc.
"Then... Why did you bring us back? We failed humanity before?" Popola asked with a good deal of bitterness in her voice.
I sighed at that question, I didn't really have a definitive answer beyond some shitty one's so I was just completely honest. "You were dealt a shit hand, and your model line was blamed for a failure that was inevitable. I do not blame you both for that. I, your human creator. Do not blame you." I finished very firmly.
There was a pause before they shared a look before Devola asked quietly. "What do you want from us specifically? We aren't combat models even if we can fight as good as most YoRHa combat models for short amounts of time. Nor can we hack like a Scout or Operator unit."
I was silent for a moment before I grinned and said. "I brought you here, to be my beautiful nurses of course. I am overworking myself and need someone to take care of myself as saving humanity as a sole human is a massive task right?"
"You are saying... You brought us here to be eye candy?" Popola asked in a deadpan.
And I blinked as I didn't think she would jump to that but I shrugged before saying shamelessly. "It certainly plays a part in it. Either way, you two should go talk to Commander White and clear up any issues. I need to get back to some projects."
Now that I had several more androids filling up my factory it was time for me to begin the main project in getting all the materials needed for the Space Elevator... And after working on the androids. I needed to see if 2B/Commander White and Maine had a solution to my isotope issue.
