Diggy Diggy Hole Chapter 14
🕑 Added 2025-04-15 15:44:11 +0000 UTCEven with unskilled, uneducated, and clumsy Umgi hands. I managed over the next couple of weeks to get a production line for the Dwarven Spheres and Spider Bot's going. The spider bot's weren't per say meant to be weapons, though.
Not that they couldn't actually, if someone had a couple hundred of them, they could use them to crawl over the walls of some grand castle and cause a bunch of issues. But no, the Spider Bot's main point of existence was to help me not have to rely on these damned Umgi to keep shit going.
On the other end, the Dwarven Sphere's very much were a weapon of war. Their right hand was a spring-loaded spear that would shoot forward at armor-piercing and shattering speed. And their left had a large autocrossbow that I had enchanted with the Infinity enchantment.
That infinity enchantment was a bit of an issue, which would require my own efforts in enchanting. But otherwise, I had a stable line of dwarven bolt's being produced as well so the larger number of Dwarven Spheres had ammo.
The best part of the Dwarven Sphere's beyond their hardy nature in not needing much fuel, was the fact that when they weren't in close combat, they earned their sphere name as they could conveniently roll up into a half sphere so they could be easily stored away.
Though there was a bit of an issue with sourcing the materials for the dynamos and cores for the spider bots and the Dwarven Spheres. Which consisted of alchemically treated crushed rubies that would be bound together with crystallized blood.
"Hmm, blasted Centurion Dynamo Core is gonna be an issue." I grumbled to myself as I realized that I wouldn't be able to use simple cow, goat, and other animals' blood to make the cores I could for the lesser machines.
No, I needed blood from a being that was clearly supernatural, but thankfully I had the terrible Mountain's of Mourne just fucking next door after all. So with that, I left the broken dynamo I had been working on.
And I went to the foreman who was watching the lines of hard working Umgi's clumsily moving the cooled pieces of the Dwarven Spheres and Spider Bot's from the Tinker's Construct, mega smelter I had set up.
"Xiao Fan, I need you to go set up a new mission for them Ogre's. I need some manner of monsters that's capable of being caged without being... Too dangerous, also specifically note that the Ogre's allowed to eat the limb's of the monsters so long as the monster's don't die while being moved."
The overseer of the humans working for me, gave a me a dull stare. Before he said dryly. "Sire, bringing actual monster's past the walls and into the lands of Grand Cathay is-"
I cut him off and said flatly. "I am not a damned fool, the Great Bastion is a great wall for the north sure. But the western mountains are not blocked off so much. Plenty of monster's just wander in Grand Cathay that way."
Shaking my head, I said. "Just get me some kind of monsters, I need a constant supply of blood filled with the winds of magic."
The overseer brushed a hand across his face before he said quietly. "Uhh sire, does the blood need to be... You know, naturally filled with the Wind's of Magic? Coudn't you just add some magic to mundane blood from the cattle and whatnot?"
At that... I blinked as I realized that was true. Sorta anyway, and I wore a cruel smile as I said slowly. "You know what... That's a very good point. I didn't consider that."
Because I still had a fuck load of Skaven corpses in my inventory, not to mention the corpses of some of the monsters I slayed when I was out and about with those beautiful and simple Ogre's
So although it wasn't a permanent solution. I could just... Throw the Skaven and the monster's corpses into another smaller smeltery. As Tinker's Construct smeltery's would be able to make mixed blood 'alloy's.'
'What better way to kill the Thaggoraki than to make mechanical warrior's powered by the filthy magic/Warpstone that is in their veins.' I thought with vindication before I got to work.

Days later, I stared at the instrument that would be the hallmark of my future. The Dwarven Centurion, with a gleaming red and speckled green core due to it being tainted by the Warpstone impurities within the Skaven's blood.
I was a proud Dawi, of good stock and size. But the Dwarven Centurion was five meters tall, and weighing more than three thousand pounds due to the brass and dwarven alloy armor covering its frame.
It was a fucking beast of a machine, and I had no doubt... That should it, and a Rat Ogre comes across one another. My Dwarven Centurion would win for sure.
As for this Dwarven Centurion, seeing as it was a straight combat model. It was armed with a massive hydraulic-powered spike that was hooked up to its steam-powered system on it's right arm. And on its left, it was armed with not a crossbow...
But a fucking four gauge cannon that that could shoot massive spreads of shot, or for more annoying target's solid metal balls the size of a humans fist.
'This will work... Hmm, it's a bit too elite enemy-focused, though even with the shotgun ammo attachment. Maybe switch the piledriver spear into a chainsword to cut horizontally through swathes of enemies?' I mused as I took in the standing form of the Dwarven Centurion.
Though it did have it's steam breath attack as well to clear some lesser foes that were swarming it. But that was an issue, as well, as water was the coolant system for the dynamo core for the Dwarven Centurion.
"My lord, should I send a page to Lady Miao Ying of your success?" The foreman asked with respect as he looked at the large brass colored warrior that towered over him.
I shook my head, however. "Nay, we need to make let's say... Four more, for more specific roles. This is one is to fight enemy champions and keep them busy. Now, we make one for clearing chaff, and then one specifically for ranged and such." I spoke as I envisioned such things.
For the model used to clear chaff or large amounts of trash from enemies. A large flamethrower and doubling the armor, but making it hollow to fill with fuel would work. Along with giving it a giant metal fan attachment for its other hand so that it can just push the spinning fan blades into enemies.
"Yes, my lord. That would be a good idea." The overseer said, and I just grunted with my mind filled with more ideas. I went back to work as I could already imagine all the dead Skaven that would face my constructs.

tftc i would like to ask why you chose ball ammunition for the anti armor shot on the centurion a slug or Armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot or a APCBC round would have much higher penetration power and you could give the cannister shot which is the modern version of scattershot for cannons a fire rune that could be toggled on off and make it shoot dragons breath incendiary scattershot

The core having a taint of warp stone shouldn't that be bad? I mean warp stone is some really awful stuff right? Tftc
