Low Poly to High Poly Modeling + Texel Density Guide
🕑 Added 2024-08-08 15:17:14 +0000 UTCHey guys! Here's a tutorial on modeling the door from the Skyrim Town Kit. It features a cool workflow, bringing a low poly object to high poly via sculpting, then optimizing the mesh, then UV unwrapping. Hope you enjoy!

Very nice tutorial man! for the end part when you completely chop of your mesh, wouldn't it be better to just unwrap the part you'd like to have a high texel density and the other part make like really small UVs so you can still texture it, it'll look terrible on the other side but at least the volumes are there

Great tut, BUT like you say, if your doing game or enter able building, I guess you duplicate and UV unrap the door before you sculpt it them bake the high poly to the low poly and make the maps to give the details. Or now you can (with a high poly like your decimated one) texture it bring it inot UE6 and apply nanite, you good to go
