Righteous: What in the hell is going on in Swamptown?
DonnyJuan: You’ll have to be more specific. Lots of things happen in Swamptown on the regular.
Righteous: Yesterday, I was at a firing range I set up on the edge of the town, practicing with a rifle. Hoping to get some kind of Holy Marksman type class when I tier up, you know? But all of a sudden, the gun just stopped working, and I got word that there was a dungeon law in effect, stopping all fire from happening!
Max: All fire, really?
Righteous: Yeah! And it wasn’t just guns, either! I used an ATV to ride off the paths into the swamp a bit, in one of the areas where it is inside the dungeon’s terrain, but not the developed area, you know? Didn’t want to run into wild monsters while I was focusing on training. Anyways, the ATV wouldn’t start, so I spent hours trying to push and drag the damn thing through the swamp until I got back to the road!
DontYouWantMe: You know, that was about the time that the military guys from the recruiting station all went and put up a blockade on the north end of town. Still don’t know what that was about.
VenusFlyTramp: Oh, I know the answer to that one! I was in the Cathedral when Kuronoth showed up to explain things. Some terrorists from the Middle East tried to attack the town, and he stomped them. Then, he sent those mercenaries that are loyal to him, and stomped the dungeon they were using as a base!
Temptation: Not exactly how I would have put it, but true enough. Also, the military mobilized to try and keep civilians from getting caught in the crossfire. I was using Lewd Uranium Slime Lords to deal with the attackers, and it would have been dangerous for anyone not immune to radiation to get near the battle, much less join in.
Scholar: Lewd Uranium Slime Lords? Please tell me that isn’t what it sounds like.
Temptation: Oh, I promise you that it is EXACTLY what it sounds like. The terrorists were dead the moment they kicked off the party, even if they didn’t realize it, yet.
ImAPally: Uh, just to be clear, those aren’t in the dungeon, right? We aren’t going to have to fight those things, are we?
Temptation: There are no Lewd Uranium Slime Lords in the ‘normal’ version of the dungeon at this time. I like to keep the dungeon tough, but fair, after all. And those things are decidedly unfair.
Scholar: At this time? You mean you plan to use them in the future?
Temptation: Well, I already have them in the Nightmare version of the dungeon. After all, you go in without the contract, then you get everything that I can throw at you. But for the Normal mode? I’ll at least give plenty of warning, so people can prepare countermeasures.
BadCompany: So, you said that they were based in a dungeon?
Temptation: Yes, unfortunately, they found a dungeon that they could twist into a training camp. A waste of a City Dungeon, in my opinion, but what can you do?
Scholar: City Dungeon?
Temptation: Oh, yes. Just like humans can take all kinds of races and professions, the same is also true of dungeon cores. The basic class types are Slayer, Puzzler, Crafter, Temple, Aligned, City, and Mystic dungeons. Each has strengths and weaknesses, of course. This is all available in the System Shop, by the way.
Scholar: Fascinating. And I guess that a City dungeon is somehow more hospitable to having people living in it?
Temptation: Exactly. There is a lot more to it, of course, but the different class types for dungeons affect their abilities, and give extra XP for different activities. A City dungeon grows quicker when people are living inside it, while a Slayer dungeon gets more XP from killing adventurers. Things like that.
Scholar: Are there any other City dungeons out there?
Temptation: Sure. But spilling that kind of information on a whim is not allowed. However, if you were paying attention to the news out of Germany, you’d know that a City dungeon has taken over the former Dachau concentration camp, and is working with officials to preserve and protect the Memorial there.
ScoopGirl: Oh, yes! I saw that come across my desk last week! They were putting together a charity event, to help raise funds to get more class training for the survivors and their families.
Temptation: Indeed. The one in charge of that dungeon has been very committed to making it a place of healing and rememberance.
Crusader: So, what class was your dungeon, before you twisted it?
Temptation: Oh, the Forbidden Chambers of Exotic Pleasures dungeon was a Mystic class dungeon. Which allowed it to be better skilled with magic, spell effects, and so on. Of course, it took some experimentation to get the effects I desired, but it worked out nicely.
Anonymous3: So, did you destroy the other dungeon? The one that the terrorists turned into a camp?
Temptation: Oh, yes. It is gone, completely. I also let the military know, so they’ll probably send teams to discretely check on other dungeons in the area, to make sure the same thing hasn’t happened to them.
MightyMouse: Hey, Temptation! How many floors is the dungeon up to, anyways? I mean, my party just got past the Arena, and are going to start working through the desert, once we get gear that’s suited to the environment. But damn, how far you going with this?
Temptation: Oh, I decided to do themes for every few floors. Specialized environmental themes. Floors 13 through 15 are Desert floors. Once people have shown that they can reliably get past the fifteenth floor, I’ll create a new set of environmental floors for them to enjoy.
SunnyBunz: Any hints on what will be next?
Temptation: No, except that I want to wait a bit before I throw three straight water levels at people. So, the environment on the next set won’t be Desert, Swamp, or Water. However, I am willing to accept suggestions, especially if those suggestions come with new creatures that I can add to my repertoire.

Tundra/Arctic floors would be a nightmare after desert floors. To be nicer, he could do plains or forest

Both suggestions are actually rather good, if I was to lean towards 1 over the other, personally I would go with the Ice Desert / Cryomancer combo, could have a good bit of fun with that setup.

suggestions: 1 from the video game path of excile. 1 dark cave mine one floor to get past and one with lot's of mining space. with many creatures, that react aggressive to light than do some dungeon laws on light and darkness. monsters resistant to damage in darkness, delvers get negative statuses when in darkness and a different set in light. So for most parties it's useful to go into darkness briefly some time while mostly staying in the light suggestion 2 Ice dessert with some snow and ice aspected creatures, a dungeon law against fire magic and maybe a nice nice ice palace with traps. and some undead monsters and if he get his hand on a nice cyromancer in the galactic dungeon an ice queen.
