I was surprised they jumped ahead so quickly at the end, but I think I trust this show enough to give us a satisfying ending. The first 6 episodes of this season had me really questioning where this show was going, but the 7th paid it all off. I feel like the same is happening now. Whatever the creators have up their sleeves for the last couple episodes I'm sure will be mind-blowing.
