You are right. But it needs keen intelligence, a lot of self-control and, mostly, the capability of "reading" people in their minds and in their souls (and this one you can't learn...), so it's much more simple and available to everyone using "brute force", as it happens also way too much in Real Life...

Oh yeah, manipulators are not good people, and I'm expecting Jemare to turn dominant as soon as Flora gives in, and might even turn out to be worse than the guys she met at the party, like if Jemare is eventually revealed to be a pimp or something, as pimps are extremely manipulative in this kind of way, pretending to be kind and using guilt to get girls to do what they want. I don't need my porn to be morally righteous, though. I actually like it when the bad guy wins in porn stories, as long as nobody gets hurt. Porn isn't really known for morality, in general.

I don't like people like that. When you approach another person you should show yourself for what you are, so that both can appreciate or not, for me. One thing is to show the best of yourself (it's a natural behaviour), completely another matter to play a role that doesn't belong to you. This is to trick people only for the pleasure of conquering (such a meanness...). If you don't respect first other people's feelings there's no true relationship, and deep down you don't respect even yourself, for me.

Manipulative people, like womanizers, do this all the time. Technically almost everyone does it, to some extent. When starting a new relationship, we try to be what the other person wants us to be, then gradually slide back into being who we really are. Manipulators just do it to the extreme, then drop the act as soon as they get what they want.

I think it's an act, because he knew Flora wouldn't cheat on her boyfriend casually, and that a tough guy would scare her off. So he's trying to take the sensitive approach because that's what he thinks she would fall for. He's been reading her from the start, slowly seducing her. Once he gets her, then he can drop the act and be his true dominant self.
