Subjectivity
The bars seem unnecessary. Like, if they've proved they've fully accepted their place and want to be there, why make it look like they're not trusted, or there against their will? Plus, they're on a boat... I mean, where are they going to go? I prefer doggie beds along the sides of their mistress' luxury bed, possibly with leashes and collars connecting them to the bed frame, just to make sure they stay close by if their mistress wakes up and needs to use them in the middle of the night to get back to sleep.
