Harry noted that the witches and wizards here liked to lead their muggles around on leashes like pets, something that wasn't really done in England. It was interesting to see trends develop across the world. Regardless of who was their one true lord, people would always express their individuality.
They entered the temple, finding it empty outside of Pythia, the high priestess, the world's foremost seer, an elderly woman, though she did not look frail. She was sitting high up on a tripod, her long flowing red robes reaching almost down to the floor. Her chair was placed directly above a crack in the earth, where vapor constantly rose, twisting and coalescing around her.
"My lord." She did not speak English, but she could speak parseltongue. "I sent everyone away, in anticipation of our meeting."
Harry and Emily shared a look before they stepped forward. Emily conjured a large, golden loveseat which the two sat on.
"I take it you are aware of what has happened?" Harry asked.
The oracle nodded. "She wants to talk to you, sir."
"She?" Harry questioned.
The oracle didn't respond. Instead, her eyes rolled to the back of her head, taking on a golden glow. Her mouth dropped open, the same golden light bursting forth from it. The old woman's body levitated off the tripod, her limbs falling lip as the being possessing her body spoke.
"I take it you received my gift?"
"Quite a gift." Harry quipped.
The being laughed, even though the oracle's mouth did not move. "I needed some way to draw your attention. When the girl fell through the veil, I found my opportunity."
"Who exactly are you?" Emily asked with more than a bit of irritation.
"You two have figured it out already. I'm the being you call fate, one of the primal forces of the universe."
Harry and Emily had speculated that it was something like this, but having it confirmed did not assuage their concerns.
"And what does fate want with a humble human such as myself?"
Another laugh, this one deep enough that it reverberated throughout the entire temple. A big puff of steam was expelled from the crack, obscuring their view for a few moments.
"There is no need for false modesty, Harry Potter."
"Then what? Are you here to try and punish me? Do you want to destroy the peaceful world I've created?"
The oracle's neck gave a sick snap as her head twisted to the side in a gross imitation of a human gesture, "I care not for your human concerns of morality, Mr. Potter. Which bodes well for you."
Harry placed his hand over Emily's. They did not talk, not even through their mental link, but they were ready to fight fate itself if they needed to.
"What is it that you need then, fate? Could you get to the point?" Emily asked.
"Of course. You see, all that I seek is balance. Amongst the many worlds I oversee, there are ones like yours, where the dark triumphs, and there are others where the light governs. But there must always be a balance, a perfectly maintained equilibrium between these worlds."
Harry began to understand. "And right now, the scale is tipping in one direction."
"Indeed. The light has been consuming the dark across the worlds, it is upsetting the balance, That is why I have found you, Harry Potter, A champion of the dark that can restore order."
"And why exactly would I do that?" Harry asked.
Another deep chuckle followed. "I may not be able to affect you directly, Harry Potter, but there are many Harry Potters I can send your way. Righteous ones, ones that are much more competent than your pet wolf."
"We'll tear them apart." Emily snarled.
"I'm sure you will. But, more importantly, Harry Potter, I know there is an individual who you desperately wish to be born. I know you've sequestered her parents away, but even then, how sure are you that you will succeed? Even if you knew the exact moment of conception, what is to say that the same sperm will meet the egg this time around?"
Harry's eyes narrowed. He kept his anger under control, knowing there was nothing he could do about this being.
For now.
"So what, you want to send me to worlds with a 'good' outcome and throw them into chaos?"
"Precisely."
Harry did not like it one bit. He was a dark, twisted individual. He had no compunctions about his own desires, he owned them, accepted them, embraced them. But, if other Harry Potters had found ways to achieve peace, or at least stability, he felt no desire to go out and destroy what they'd achieved.
But the truth was, fate had him by the balls. All because of that one redhead that Harry would never be able to let go of.
Harry glanced at Emily and she nodded.
"Alright, we accept. But just know, we will not be beholden to you, we will do this at our own pace."
"On my timescale, it should be plenty enough. As long as you work efficiently. I will contact you next summer with your first assignment. A good education is paramount after all."
Fate let out one last cackling laugh before its possession of the oracle ended. The old woman's body fell lifelessly onto the stone floor.
Harry and Emily did not share a word or a thought as they left the temple. They both knew they could not afford to. But they did not need to think to begin plotting. They were entering the realm of gods now, they would need to be precise.
They needed to create a pocket dimension, somewhere where they could plot openly against fate without being overheard.
Because they instantly both knew that was their new goal was. They would have no master save for themselves, and the being that called itself fate was just another Grindlewald that needed to be toppled on their way to the top.
Harry had a slight smile. After all, fate had not mentioned it, but Harry held an all important title, a title that would become much more relevant in this new stage they were entering.
He was, after all, the Master of Death.

Ahh I had a feeling that Harry and Emily wouldn’t be limited to just one world lol. Looking forward to seeing Harry and Emily conquer the multiverse and make it there’s . Also looking forward to them conquering the various deities including fate. One question I do have is will they meet and conquer death :P really enjoying this story and the direction it’s going can’t wait to see what happens next
