I never saw the appeal of Kingdom Hearts before now, but your enthusiasm is, as always, infectious. I'm starting my journey now and just entered Traverse Town. I've got to say, playing the first hour after seeing the video, it was amazing to be able to appreciate all these fine details on my first way through. Thank you so much!

A correction, Sora does have a canonical age, it was confirmed through a quiz in a mobile game of all things that he is 15 in Dream Drop Distance set a bit over a year after this game, so he's 14 here, his age can also be deduced from in-series evidence.

Slight addendum in regards to the origin of the Playstation: Nintendo contracted sony to create a disc-based add-on to the SNES, not the N64. The end result was the same, Nintendo turned around and made a deal with Phillips, and Sony repurposed all their R&D into making their own console to compete with Nintendo and crushed it. While researching, I incorrectly assumed based mainly on the timing of all this that it must have been about the 64DD, which Nintendo did have plans for at the earliest stages of the N64s development, but that’s my bad, rest assured I will be making a revised version of this without that misinformation!

Ah! Thank you for pointing this out! Seems when researching this I got some of my lines crossed, so strange Nintendo would be working on add-ons to the Snes as late as the early 90s…

2:40 - Nintendo didn't hire Sony. They planned to partner with them to release a CD add-on for the Super Nintendo as they already had a close working relationship with Nintendo's use of the Sony sound chip for the SNES.

Great video, here's the thing though Nintendo partnered with Sony to make a disk drive addon for the SNES not the N64.

Dude, I should've guessed Kingdom Hearts! I've never gotten close to beating the original, let alone playing any of the others games in the series, but I've always had an interest in the series and its story. I'm now looking forward to watching the rest of your next adventure.
