🕑 Added 2018-08-02 18:41:33 +0000 UTC HEY GUYS if you havent noticed already, patreon has been declining people left and right. i think it's mostly affecting people pledging with their cards.please check with your banks to make sure your patreon charges have gone through or contact patreon to see what your next step would be. i'll try to make another post with updated information when i know more...
sorry about this, guys... i'm not sure what's going on but me and a lot of other patreon creators have taken a massive hit because of this! so it'd help us out a ton if we can make sure the pledges still go through somehow! ):

I havent been having issues as far thank god. I wonder whats happening thats so odd.
I use paypal and haven't had any issues, I just double checked just in case. That might be an option for some people having trouble with their cards.

They switched payment processing to UK so banks flag it. You can just call your bank and say it's legit. I freaked this morning but we're good now

I heard it had to do with patreon changing their banks, it seems it just needed a bit to get all set up and in order though? Cause people using card, their banks were initially flagging this as suspicious activity. Mine declined at first when it happened, but now its up and running again on its own?

PayPal is free to set up and use. So if the cards are declining, open a PayPal account and use that.

I think its a glitch for some, Mine are showing they went through and are completed. Can you let message if it shows you other wise?

I use PayPal and everything seemed to go through ok this morning.
Mine went through and I use Discover. Hopefully they get it figured out soon!

You either have to call your bank and authenticate the charge or switch to charge to your bank account through paypal if you have one (which is what I did) and then once that goes through switch back to where it charges your card in the future.
If you received a fraud alert at some point, you have to authenticate the charge
they said they’re working on figuring out what the problem is so hopefully it gets fixed soon 🙏

Unrelated to this particular problem, but my card was constantly declined for no reason at some point last year for several months in a row, so I switched to my paypal and haven't had any problem since.

Ok my bank asked if the Patreon charge was fraud, but they ALSO checked in about 2 other purchases I’d made that day - so possibly it’s the BOA’s fault? They’re so huge I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the culprit

I had my bank ask if the patreon charge was fraud this time, which it had never done that before. Did patreon change their banking system or something???
