Moving the story forward in this way not only explains why it happened, but it also allows the story to have an extended ending, allowing the story to become a common story that often occurs in characters. And this setting can be extended to all your stories. You can also let the protagonist choose whether it is temporary or permanent. You are really smart.

The only thing though is that they shouldn’t be giving the “gift” to those outside of the frat. So perhaps something to mention that only those “annointed” by the senior member will gain the ability to grow and vore. I think its fine as is, it's only a hint for fatality. If you're worried and wanted to hint non-fatal instead you could swap the words "hungry" to empty and "feed" to "fill" and it should read close to the same but lean more towards suggesting non-fatality while still allowing for both readings. Not sure which way the whole audience leans in regards to that whole thing since I know I'm a big fatal fan myself lol.
