Changes to the story of SL (Spoiler Alert)

We hope you enjoyed the latest update of Sunshine Love that was released over the weekend.
As some of you may know already, we do read a lot of feedback and suggestions after each release of our games and the main thing that has stood out from v.3 is the options for continuing, or agreeing to an “open relationship with your girlfriend Nicole.
What we can tell you, having gone over this feedback (mainly coming from our Discord channel), and having numerous discussions with my team, is that we’ll be looking to change the consequences of that second option in the next update.
The plan is, if you agreed to Nicole’s idea for both of you to have an open relationship, then in the next release, you, the MC, will break up with Nicole at some point during v4.
For anyone who has played the latest update, you would know that the MC had been against this idea that Nicole had suggested.
And that’s what he is going to tell her the next time when they speak.
We completely understand that some of you are concerned that the game could contain NTR scenes if you chose to accept Nicole’s proposal, but that is not our intention at all.
So with that in mind, changing the option to have an open relationship to the MC breaking up with Nicole is the best thing to do based on feedback.
What will happen now is, if you chose "Accept her decision" when you spoke with Nicole in this latest update, you will break up with her in the next update. So no changes need to be made here.
We had contemplated keeping the open relationship path, but from previous experience, we realised that having three paths running at the same time - stay with her/open relationship/break up with her - would be difficult to keep track of.
It would require a lot more work, work that we could be putting into other scenes, characters etc.
We’ll leave it at that for now, as we’d like for you to see for yourself exactly how this scene will play out, without giving everything away.

Ok thank you I was just waiting to download chapter 3 on my pc until the full chapter was complete.

We will also have a "revision" month in December to add in more scenes to Ch3, and do a complete check of Chapter's 2 & 3 to fix grammar errors, plotholes, plus also adding in some bonus features, similar to what we did with Chapter 1.

Yes, that's correct, however, the first update for Chapter 4 won't be released until early next year. We'll have more details posted on the official site over the next couple of months.

I have a question so I seen the teaser whatever it’s call for the new DMD update you said that it would conclude chapter 3 so that means after this update the whole chapter will be complete and you’ll move on to the next chapter?

That whole relationship choice, I felt was irrelevant. I do not like Nicole at all; she only cares about the money the MC was bringing in and not him. So, as the MC, I would just agree to whatever because it would not make any difference in my actions with any of the other girls in Sunshine Bay. That is my 2 cents.

Thanks for joining Brian and for the honest feedback. We're still working on ways to make that particular decision, and the ramifications of your choice, work for everyone in the next release. We've never had a reaction to a game choice or character spark as much debate in any of our three games, and that's after nearly four years of making these kinds of games.

Just became Patreon member today, but loved Melody and now into the other two. I was put off by the open relationship in SL (not put off by concept, just how it came about), so glad you are going to fix that. Thank you for your hard work and looking forward to more!

Funny you should mention "double standards" because that's something that Dots and I do think about with all three of our games so far, and trying to not be so one-sided in our ways of thinking. No easy task for a guy to try to think from a female's POV either :D

i feel like this game is teaching me about double standards and i've played quite alot of harem games and they all involve a male protagonist and left with this choice for open relationships really puts me on the fence

How would breaking up with Nicole add another path with more work? Wouldn't it just be, if you make that choice you never see her in game again? I realize that I might be missing a future story element or some game creation technical element here, that is why I ask.

I like the story, and the characters so far. You are doing a great job. The amount of content we got is amazing as well. I don’t mind the change. Keep up the good work ;)

What ever you do is well. But an open relationship is not NTR. NTR is a complicated japanese fetish in which the husband bear his wife having sex with others but he doesn't want and the woman also doesn't want at the beggining, all in an enviroment of blackmailing or abuse and the man is suffering but at the same time is exciting. Is different to cheating or swinging . In an open relationship they want or accept that situation, there's not ntr or cheating.

I just wanted to say great update loved it i just wish there was more with Ashley’s daughter or whatever players choose to name her.But I understand your probably waiting to make things more interesting with her.Iam Just impatient and I have my eyes set on her already.LOL
