Well Dani, first, I think you can pull her off without the darker skin tone, because you still make an amazing Laura on your own. Also, maybe adding some special events so some of your patronites can speak to you on Skype could be really awesome. Maybe something you can do just every so often if you want to. I am just thinking, that way, those under the $50+ can at least get a chance to speak with you. It is just a suggestion, but I just hope you like it.

I am quite sure that you can ignore all of those. She is a game character, so if anyone it appropriating anything it would be the studio making SF. Anyway the whole debate about respect and cultural appropriation has reached overblown heights, like political correctness did at one point.

That's the problem! Lots of people are getting much hate on internet due "culture appropriation" :( They say it's very "convienient" to a white person to tan or makeup itself to achieve a temporary darker skintone and still have all the white priviledges.... :( But in the other side, I got complaints saying it's a disrespect to cosplay such a white Laura. I don't know what to do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cosplay doesn't need to be a copy, so you can skip the tan, unless for some reason you really want it.

If you want to be close to Laura I would say tan your skin but it also looks good without that.
