It's just so much fun! I was anxious to try this particular one, as I love the Writers Tears Copper Pot Whiskey very much. The Double Oak did not disappoint. It was just as wonderful and divine to sip, if not more so. I will have to do a side by side taste comparison with them in the future, but they have quickly become favorites.
Writers Tears Double Oak marries both single malt and single pot still whiskeys after a triple distillation, and is aged in both American oak from Kentucky and French oak Cognac casks from the French Allary Cooperage - the delicious result of a collaboration between the Walsh family of Writers Tears and the Legaret family of Deau Cognac.

Tasting Notes from Master of Malt:
Nose: Spiced and stewed orchard fruits, lots of sweet and earthy vanilla pod with a side of pear crumble.
Palate: Juicy white stone fruits, lychee and lemon peel with a hint of grape skin dryness.
Finish: Rich and aromatic spiced dark chocolate.
