Organization! Update! Read all about it here!
🕑 Added 2023-09-21 23:07:06 +0000 UTCNow that I'm back to full steam modding, I wanted to get more organized. So, as you can see from the screenshot, I've created a Trello account and put some of my projects. I'm still doing a little organization of the tasks in each project, but in the screenshot you can see one of my project Trello boards with the tasks and statuses.
Visions
So what is Visions? After take a break for almost two months, I talk with some friends and also listened to some feedback from some of my Discord members. One thing I did do during the break was a little work on making new faces for some of the previous replacers I did. Aela, Jordis, Iona, and others. These were replacers I just wasn't happy with. There is at least one in every pack of the nine packs for Pantheon.
Besides that, I've wanted to update the Pantheon assets with some new features. After talking to my friend Silver (the CEO of Milfactory), who did some interesting stuff with his own asset pack, I decided to do something similar myself. After I started theorycrafting how it would work out I realized that these ideas might not be what some people wanted. Hence, I decided to create a new series called Visions. This way you can keep Pantheon and just skip Visions if you don't like these features. You will miss out on some of the new face designs, so its a tradeoff and decision only you can make. You can also use both, and with proper load order management, that should be no problem.
So now to answer the question. What is Visions? One of my skillsets is database development. I haven't done it seriously now for years, but back in the day I did a lot of database design. One of the most known methodologies for database design is normalization. In simple terms, data normalization is the practice of organizing data entries to ensure they appear similar across all fields and records, making information easier to find, group and analyze. I applied these methodologies when I created my plugins and asset packs for my mods. Reusing assets and records that NPCs would share and other types of things.
Visions will take this a step further. Imagine only having to download the asset pack (which I predict will be even smaller in file size than Pantheon's - but with the same visual quality) and then the NPC pack for all 90+ NPCs but the file size is smaller than 1 Pantheon NPC pack of 10 NPCs? Well, if this is all just making your head explode, let me just spell out specific features that will make at least some of you excited:
- Record and Asset Optimization - should improve game performance!
- Smaller download file sizes for followers and the NPC Pack
- The NPC Pack (Pantheon has 9 of them with over 90 NPCs covered) will be an All in One. That means all 90+ NPCs will come with one download.
- Visions will support CBBE, 3BA, BHUNP, and UNP because - it uses your default body but my own skin!
- Visions has fitness types included with it: Chubby, Muscular, and Soft.
- The fitness of an NPC will be determined by me based on the NPCs in-game class or job. Melee types such as Lydia will be muscular. So will miners and hard laborers. Nobles will be soft. Barkeepers and tavern wenches would be soft or chubby. And so on.
- I will detail how to change these NPC fitness settings on the mod page, but XEdit is required (its easy though).
- Fully supports VR now as an AIO! No longer need to do anything to make my NPCs work in VR.
- Fully supports OBody since it is using your own installed body.
- Will come with my body presets, so if you like to use them you can slide your default body to my Visions body. It will also come with Silver's Pantheon body and Taranis' body design.
- Compatible with Wet Function Redux SE (the problem with discolored heads should be gone due to it being how I named head parts in the plugin and NIF file - who knew?)
- All NPCs will have a color record for their hair which will NOT break racial hair records but allow the NPC to have the correct hair color when you put a wig on them.
This mod will take me a while to release a first version of. I'm going to juggle it between my voiced character updates I've started to work on since I got back from my break. I want to stress that I have made some new faces that will only be in Visions and which I hope are my best work yet. Again, everything is free and you will be able to download it from Nexus.
If you got through this wall of text I commend you. Thank you for supporting me as I continue my journey of Skyrim modding!
