If your reply was in response to mine, I was more talking about skill which is what a lot of people like to nitpick as much as the destiny crap when it comes to this fight that Neji was far too advanced an opponent for Naruto to have defeated. When it comes to pure raw power Naruto is stronger no doubt but I think people feel Neji got robbed of victory because of the amount of hax he has and it just took one blow from Naruto to take him out. I'm not one of those people because it's clear Kishimoto was using this fight to develop Neji so in order for him to change into a better person he needed to lose to be humbled, otherwise he would have continued to be arrogant and look down on people. However Naruto still won the fight fairly because he was able to take advantage of his opponent having his guard down, Neji's just as much at fault for falling for it because if he had been on a real mission that could have resulted in his death by underestimating someone you deem weaker than yourself only for them to surprise you the very next minute. Neji could have easily won this fight if he took it seriously but he didn't and it was already too late once Naruto got his second wind but just because Neji was the one favored to win this match doesn't mean Naruto's victory should be diminished; it's certainly not an asspull like the OP is claiming because a real ass pull would have been Naruto displaying an ability or power we've never seen out of nowhere but we've seen nine tails chakra before and more importantly Jiraiya was specifically training him to use it. Naruto has every right to tap into the nine tails power because it exists inside him, it's a part of him. Nobody complains about Neji using Byakugan or Sasuke using Sharingan; take those away and a third of their abilities goes away right there.

I mean, Naruto truly does end up being stronger than Neji in spite of the focal point being about philosophical fallacies. Neji had the upper hand initially, but once Naruto tapped into the 9-tails chakra, the tides had shifted. Ofc he is thinking about danger. Kiba saw the anbu and was surprised, which means their presence wasn't expected standard procedure. The hokage entered the arena already suspicious.

This fight was never meant to prove Naruto at this point is stronger or more skilled than Neji because he's clearly not; it was meant for Neji to have his worldview shattered because to him destiny is a path with a fixed outcome so he should have won by default based on his own philosophy of being a genius and considering Naruto the failure but said failure was able to outsmart him while he had his guard down and strike the final blow. When you're a ninja you can't be careless and underestimate your opponent which is what Neji did this whole entire fight whether you consider them weaker than you or not. Shikamaru is a shining example of this because every single opponent he's faced has always been more powerful than him but he gets the upper hand everytime because he strategizes; Naruto does the same exact thing only since people think of him as stupid and don't take him seriously they fall for a lot of his tricks not because he goes about it the smart route but through his unpredictability which Kakashi said is one of his strengths. Whether you like the results or not Naruto won fair and square by faking out his opponent which is one of the most ninja tactics I've seen and let's be honest if Naruto summoned the toad it would have been over in two seconds. The fight is meant for Neji's character development not Naruto's because Neji needed to be humbled because he treated his own comrades horribly; just because life deals you a bad hand doesn't mean you can use the crutch of my situation's crappy so I can tear down others who want to overcome their own obstacles. People like Naruto, Hinata and Lee anger Neji because they're actually trying to improve themselves for the better but Neji has no right telling someone else how they should live their own life because he's been subconsciously doing the same thing by training hard and mastering techniques in his clan meant for the main branch he's not a part of so if Neji truly believed in the nonsense he was spewing he would have just been an obedient branch follower and stayed in his place but he's clearly defiant at being seen as less than which is how he was treating others.

Folks are really calling this particular fight an asspull when not long after this, Naruto just barely overcomes Gaara as well? Gaara is easily the strongest among them. Neji ain't all that OP.

The hokage doesn't exactly know what's going to go down but he still senses danger cuz the unlikely events that have already taken place like orochimaru showing up. So he's cautious. Trust I know this show too much

I like this fight but i've always felt the outcome was a bit of an ass pull. Plot armor is thick in this one.
