It was obvious, but then they throw Itachi saying that he only acted like a good big brother to trick Sasuke. That’s what got me going back into thinking that he was just pure evil

The fact that she figured out Sasuke holds a special place in Itachi's heart was pretty darn perceptive. It seems obvious but they did a really good job selling Itachi as a "bad guy" here.
