I dont understand why you would need to explain that when nothing has really happened yet. Just let them experience the show without giving information that will interfere with how they will react to the characters due to preconceptions of them. Its like saying, you should explain to madison to like Itachi and dont think badly of him because he ends up doing what he does for the good of Sasuke and the village. Its just spoiling things at the end of the day.

Jiraya didn’t say sharingan wrong. He called it a “Simingan”, which describes a “hypnotic eye”. He says simongan in the Japanese dub as well. Instead of calling by name he just described what it does. It’s like you saying “I need to take some of that pain killer medicine” instead of just saying “I need to take some Tylenol” lol Jiraya just has a weird choice of words. But we all know Jiraya is weird so it’s no surprise he said it like that 😂😂😂

Why Itachi doesn't just crush Jiraiya is revealed much later but I think there's a misconception that Jiraiya is stronger than him. Jiraiya is around Orochimaru's level who is far below Itachi at this point.

Jiraiya with sage mode struggled to defeat 3 of the 6 paths of Pain and lost. Itachi went toe to toe with Nagato in his original form where his abilities were more enhanced and discovered Chibaku Tensei's weakness within moments. Kabuto even admitted that he made a miscalculation and that Itachi was just too damn good.

We gotta remember Jiraiya at the battle of Pain. He’s gotta boat load of power in reserve. I’d say him and Itachi would likely go toe to toe for a good while but Kisame is closer to Kakashi’s level than Jiraiya’s.
