There is some mixed canon in the filler and most of the filler guides i can see are actually wrong in that respect. Most of it is skippable however as others have pointed out though I would recommend watching the meeting with the feudal lord during the start of episode 179. The return of Tazuna is canon as well but not super significant to the story. Baris, just one thing. Half of Episode 179 is canon. You need to at least react to that before returning to the actual canon schedule. I assume Madison doesn't read these to avoid spoilers, but the canon part of 179 is when Kakashi is appointed as Hokage before Danzo has a chance.

This filler arc can be skipped. They're all mostly flashback episodes. They do re-introduce Tazuna and Inari (from the Land of Waves) as they are helping rebuild the village, but besides that, the episodes are pretty non-interesting. The only filler arc in the future (that I can remember at the top of my head) I do recommend is the Kakashi Anbu Arc.

They have some fun episodes. I think if I remember right the deliberations of a new hokage are buried in this. Not necessary because it is brought up in the first cannon episode back.
