Hmmm I feel Nagato’s version/mission was and wasn’t what Madison is describing. He’s collecting the tailed beasts to make a “tailed beast weapon” as we then learn it’s for the infinite tsukyomi and Madara’s plan. The pain concept, I feel is just like a means to an end…like collateral. Just my thoughts though

Is it me or did the anime scene change? I remember seeing this on Hulu, and when the paper flew back, I could swear it was different. Baris making me remember when I first started watching Naruto…so lost and just liking it lol. Also, call back to the Zabuza arc!!!! 😎😎😎 I don’t like, but I get the plot holes and fillers. Like the akatsuki formation that Tobi talks about, the izanagi history, and also the never ending rain in the village! BUUUUUTT still awesome and it’s just getting more hyped! It shows you how warped you can get through trauma…to Baris’ point also

i love the perspective madison brings to reactions. after hearing more about madara she says she “scared for the war” most other reactors i’ve seen are always just so hype to get to the war. both reactions are valid but i do appreciate how much madison cares about the characters outside of epic fights.

It's so symbolic. The three orphans all met in the rain village. They also trained by Jiraiya in the rain village. Now, the final resting place for all four them is the rain village. Her blood soaked paper returning to the hideout symbolizes all them reuniting in the afterlife.

Remember Konan still wore her Akatsuki robe because she, Yahiko, and Nagato were the founders of the original Akatsuki. It was an organization whose purpose was world peace before Hanzo's treachery wiped it out. Without Yahiko's strength and leadership, Konan and Nagato fell victim to Madara's machinations and reformed the Akatsuki into what it is in the present time.

Konan is the most underrated Akatsuki member. We haven't seen her fight much, but episode showed the full capacity of her abilities. She would've destroyed Madara had he not pulled a reverse uno and undid his own death via Izanagi.

It's so important to acknowledge that Konan would have absolutely killed Madara here if it wasn't for the Izanagi. While she needed ample prep time and intel to make it happen, she is such a goat for this.
