Wouldn't call it underrated... It's literally one of the top 3 most popular animes ever. The pain arc is regarded as the pinnacle in all of Naruto. While it has very high moments after this, the story telling is at its best here.

Here he comes then that speed blitz’ where he just vanishes as the water builds up and the immediate ost change was just perfectly bone chilling 🥶

This is like when goku went super saiyan on namek. The transformations have been hyped up. Vegeta talking about goku being a super saiyan, frieza fearing it. Jiraiya telling kakashi/yamato about the four tails and to stop naruto before he goes beyond 4. As well as the obvious "triggered by rage" aspect. Krillin died for super saiyan, hinata "died" for naruto

The 1st time I watched these 2 episodes, was after I became disabled and I latched on to Naruto (Shippuden) to bring me some sort of clarity in my life. But what I ended up realizing was that we are all human beings with core beliefs but those beliefs can be challenged.
