Nagato losing is more plot than him really putting in 100% effort. Nagato could have just destroyed the leaf village with the Gedo statue with no risk to his own health, chakra, or Deva path being defenseless after Almighty push. Also, I find it very odd that Pain with his high tier Rinnegan abilities couldn't heal his body especially with all high level Akatsuki members under his charge. He could get help from Kisame's sharkskin, Kakazu and Deidara are basically elite level medical ninjas, the Gedo statue has special longevity properties, he could become a jinchiriki with their healing factor abilities, he could exchange his body parts for zetsu ones, and he also had Orochimaru who knows jutsus to completely create a new body along with kirin and jugo who have elite healing abilities. Nagato literally had the world's greatest healthcare plan in his backyard.

idk what part would really be considered “convenient”. i think it makes perfect sense that the fourth HOKAGE would have a special sealing for his son, especially when he is married to an uzamaki that specializes in seals. pain fought and destroyed the entire leaf village whiling spamming all his jutsu so it made sense how much weaker the last one would be towards the end of the fight especially when nagato is coughing up blood by this point.

Good looking out haha.

“You with no answers or solutions! Just give up!” 17:52-17:57. “Look, Pain. Just give up… on trying to make ME give up! Rasengan!” 18:50-19:00

Oh wow!! I didn't notice it either!! What's the timestamp on it? :))

I’m just wondering how Madison didn’t catch Pain and Naruto’s version of the ‘Tales of a Gutsy Ninja’ scene. “You with no answers or solutions! Just give up!” “Look, Pain. Just give up… on trying to make ME give up! Rasengan!”

notice that Minato said he sealed HALF of the 9 tails power in Naruto. so when Naruto reaches 9 tail mode that's literally HALF of the beast's power... absolutely crazy!

This entire Pain arc has been nothing short of a coming-of-age moment for Naruto. The feeling of hatred and a desire of vengeance towards Pain will be instrumental towards Naruto being able to understand Sasuke, whose whole life revolved around hatred. Jiraiya's death, however tragic, was necessary for Naruto to experience grief towards the loss of a loved one, the desire for revenge, and how to overcome them. Naruto's next steps will determine the kind of Hokage he will become, one that will break the cycle of hatred and bring true peace to the Ninja world.

Wait wasn’t this the episode when They showed the attack on the leaf?

It's time for Naruto greatest jutsu, talk no jutsu
Helder Romero
It seemed a bit convenient and plot amor in my opinion, but it was done right so it felt “natural”. I think it sets the ground well enough for when he’s training at the hidden cloud. Also, I love the irony of minato saying he never wanted to see the nine tails again 😅 (future plot amor)
Helder Romero
True but at least we touch upon that next. Good point though…it’s interesting how it ties to his natural character ever since the academy and being a genin

No problem bro, just glad you and Madison are safe! Enjoy the wedding!!

It was a bit convenient but I still think it was perfectly executed. I am also surprised that neither one of you mentioned his final line in this episode " Give up on trying to make me give up!" Which was the big line of the main character in Jiraiya's first novel "Tales of a Gusty Ninja" Of which Naruto was named after. I found it amazingly fitting, Especially when you consider, he's essentially continuing Jiraiya's mission and simultaneously defeating the one who killed Jiraiya, as well as proving he has the guts to never give up which is the moral of Jiraiya's first novel.

Great episode and great reactions. I think the episode played out perfectly. Yes, the final round with Pain only took half an episode. But we already saw everything he could do (and it was A LOT). Not to mention that Nagato, like Itachi, pushed his body past his limit. And he's now one foot in the grave. So it was good the fight didn't drag out any longer.
