With Naruto's parents dead, Iruka stepped up to the role of being a parental figure to Naruto. He truly became the family Naruto has lacked throughout his whole life, watching out for him and not judging him because of the fox inside. The very same fox that killed Iruka's parents. Because Iruka saw Naruto as family instead of as outcast like the rest of the village, their familial bond has changed Naruto for the better and has molded him into someone who will save the ninja world from destruction.
