This place takes you to a table, puts a huge plastic sheet on it, and provides you with two plastic bibs for you to begin your rabid feast. We ordered shrimp (add sausage) with Cajun sauce, and clams with garlic and spice.
It gets served in plastic bags, as you can see. There are absolutely no pretenses about this place. You are expected and encouraged to get dirty!
The sausage was hearty and delicious and nice for a different texture amidst the clams and shrimp. The shrimp were large and fresh; we would peel it, suck on the head, and then dip the shrimp back into the bag to gather more sauce before eating.
The clams had sooooo much garlic. It was glorious.

I lost the battle.

omg that sounds horrible. I've been there three times (all during lunch) so I suppose I didn't see the drunks and the homeless...

I've gone there... Was super messy and just never felt comfortable. Also last time I went became a huge mess as the birthday girl eventually got so drunk that a bouncer threatened to get the paddy wagon for her so she would stop panhandling infront of a club. The homeless person who's spot she took also complained. Glad you had fun
