- Project Freetail. This is the project that is a collaboration with a "larger comic company." It's still touch and go! 😩 Working with publishers and companies has been very different from making Check, Please! and throwing it up online. With this story, I'm going back and forth with editors to develop a character and I'm currently waiting on story approval.
- PROJECT YESENIA. Might I show you my thumbnails???

Here's a scene: a character is quite nauseous near the bayou. Other characters look on in concern!
Esther: So they can just flip back at any moment?? Is that what we're dealing with? Like once in our dorm, but once while driving, like.
🤫!!!!
Preparation
March looms, and with it, tons of traveling, presentation, and getting ready for Sticks & Scones.
I'm starting to feel overwhelmed!!
It helps to keep chipping away at the long list of tasks I have to do before launch, including drawing blog headers and re-lettering comics.

A blog header? Parse with some of the Aces, surrounded by freshly baked pie. He seems to be having a great time!
Superhero Drabbles
And some drabbles I wrote about Dr. Nick Rose and Star Titan.
📚
Before they grab dinner, Nick has to do something with "reducing stabilizers on the grab plates," so Titan sets a timer for 15 minutes and wanders around the Warehouse. This super chic modern loft design is covered in Nick-ness: Nick's hoodies, Nick's textbooks, random receipts from food trucks, stray pieces of chalk, and the cardboard remains of Amazon deliveries. Upstairs, in Nick's bedroom, there are books stacked in 2-3 foot piles because they can't fit on the rolling shelves Nick has installed on the catwalk. Downstairs, Nick is surrounded by a tapestry of neon blue screens projecting schematics and models of the Cruiser. Titan picks up a book on the nightstand, splayed open with its spine creasing. He puts a receipt in it—a bookmark.
✈️🍸🤝
Every year during the Innovator's Gala, the atrium of the Noble Aviation Museum transforms into a sprawling gallery of aircraft and interstellar transports—and also into a dazzling party. And every year, Nick avoids goin, even though he can look at biplanes forever. Titan convinces him to go this year since Nyesha is giving a presentation and the teen *did *help save Silicon City with her emergency messaging app. Nick can't tell whether his palms are sweaty or if it's the drink in his hands. He watches as Titan flutters from group to group, from angel investor to tech CEO, with Nyesha in tow, networking for her and making sure every person at the Gala knew exactly who she was. Dammit. He made it all seem so effortless.
"Hi, have you met Nyesha?"
"Yes, this is the wonder teen!"
"Listen! I've been trying to convince her to be my sidekick for weeks, okay?"
Always followed by laughter and Nyesha playing along with a "I'm paying him to say all this, haha." The bartender asks Nick if he wants a refill. Nick realizes his drink is all ice. "Oh. Uh. I'll probably—sure. Sure."
💆🏽♂️
Memphis looked up—Star Titan was at the counter. He looked rough. HIs usually impeccable coif was limp and had wilted into messy wet bangs and his clothes were frayed. He looked he had just gotten punched in the face....twice. And the guy with glasses standing next to Titan, somehow looked worse. "Hey, Memphis. If we can pass on the deep body specials for today?" said Titan. He winced. "Just two regular massages." A lens popped out of the other man's glasses.
🦸♂️
Nick hears Titan over the audiolink—"And make sure you always have an adult you can call on when you're lost!" From the cockpit of the Cruiser, Nick peeks over the dash as Titan glides away from the cheering crowd and a flurry of camera flashes. Nick lowers the back ramp so that Titan and fly in.
"Well," says Nick. "That's 9 distress calls for the day, you wanna do—" Nick trails off. Titan is slumped in the cargo seating. "One more? Or we can stop."
Titan sits up, smiles and sniffs. He wipes away a tear with his forearm. "Nah, let's do one more."
