Lately, the autumn atmosphere has been really strong. Leaves are falling... I wanted to draw something related to autumn. Then, the thought of pumpkin came to mind.
I usually draw animals, but sometimes I draw fruits or plants.... I've been thinking about drawing pumpkin once. I've been start Pikmin Bloom from last month and the main illustration there is a purple pikmin holding a pumpkin. Since I saw that illustration every day, maybe I felt some pumpkin pressure 😂

I drew it with both colors in mind from the beginning, so that it could match either one.
Originally, I was only going to draw 10 or 15, but there were so many attractive types of pumpkin and squash that I kept increasing them... I wanted to draw more if possible, but since fall is almost over, I compromised with this.
There are so many cute names!
Of these, I think the one I know best is Kabocha. It's incredibly sweet and delicious. I like to steam it and eat it. I even used it to hide medicine for my dog. It's soft and sweet. I'm really curious about the flavors of the other pumpkins that are featured here.
Real pumpkins don't have animal ears or bat wings, but I drew them for fun
I tried to reflect the actual size of the pumpkins to some extent. The small pumpkins in the picture are probably the size we can hold with one hand. I read the related articles for each pumpkin and it seems that some pumpkins can actually grow larger. Big Max is really huge. If I drew it exactly like its actual size, I would have had to exclude it because it would have filled the canvas with a fully grown Big Max. Big Max in this picture is probably a baby.
For the pumpkins that look like they're related to Halloween decorations, I drew them with slightly creepy mouths. For the pumpkins with "doll" in their names, I added cute eyelashes.

Oh no, I was shocked when I scrolled down. I thought I did answer, but I must have forgotten to press enter. My favorites are kabocha and Korean zucchini. In fact, I rarely get a chance to eat anything other than these two. Kabocha is made into soup or porridge, and Korean zucchini is made into pancakes.

I love these so much!! They are all so cute! 😍 There’s a bunch in here that I recognize from the store but didn’t know the name of before. My favorites to eat are kabocha, red kuri, and butternut. What about you?

I also learned about the pink pumpkin while doing this research. I'm really curious about it because it looks delicious! The inside is a very pretty yellow color. Thank you for actually searching about them.😁

Your drawings always take me to google to discover new animals (and now pumpkins lol)! I think I only ones I’ve tried are zucchini and kabocha, I didn’t even know there were so many different looking ones, I specially love there’s a pastel pink one 💗

It's Cheese pumpkin I think! I never thought it was ugly... There's even a saying in our country, "If you draw lines on a pumpkin, does it become a watermelon?" In English, it means the same thing as "put lipstick on a pig." (<-..Nooooo Pigs are cute too.)

I've never heard that! Do the most common pumpkins in Korea have spots and bumps that are said to resemble blemishes and warts? 🤔 In the US, "pumpkin" is used as an affectionate nickname for a child or romantic partner 😂

It's one of my favorite foods, too. There's a squash called Aehobak, which is similar to zucchini(also called Korean zucchini). I really like making it into a pancake

I think so too! In my country, 'pumpkin' also means ugly, but I've never understood that. They're cute! I've never actually seen a white pumpkin, but they look really pretty in pictures. Cotton candy has a cute name, they're really round 🥹

I always thought pumpkins are cute 🤗 I think my favorite drawing is the Cotton Candy pumpkin because that type is small and round, and the sparkles make it look extra happy 😊✨ I love every pumpkin in Pikaole Pumpkin Patch, though 🥰😆
