An update on the models we're working on

as promised, we're back with some updates on the characters we're working on. These are all models that will be released past September, since our line up is starting to get quite long.
We have quite a few in production at the moment, so I decided to make a single recap post instead of many individual ones. Which type do you prefer?
------ Mermaid ------
So, there's been a bit of silence about this model.
This piece I wanted it to be a pure sculpture. The models we usually release are split in parts, designed with an audience in mind and so on.
Not this one.
For this one I wanted a single piece with a theme, just like Light's End. The "Mermaid" theme from the poll naturally lends itself well for specific topics.
Her piece is not a specific idea, it's a feeling. She is a reflection on not just what's happening to our planet, but also on what's happening to idea of the identity of a single being in our current, fast paced, demanding world. Hopes and dream are forgotten as time is consumed by "quantity" and "amount" of things that are not necessary, that seldom bring joy. These "things" (material or not) weight on the happiness, drag the soul into oblivion as we forget who we are and what we live for: it's all replaced by a net of meaningless and frivolous objects and objectives, tasks and duties that captures us and drags us down. The essences inside us slowly fade, the energy wanes and what was once a dream is now dragged to the bottom of a dark, deep, unforgiving ocean that once was called home.
Sadly I still have to come up with a proper name for her.

This model is starting to come together. The amount of stuff that will be packed is huge and the quality is very, very high.
However, this proved to be quite a challenging task, so, sadly, we decided to push it to November, instead of October, as we won't have enough time to prepare it properly.

----Four Horseman ----
On this note, I am happy to announce that we started working on one the remaining prompts from our poll : "The Four Horseman".
These characters will all be designed together, but will be released one model a month.
Since I don't have the tools to track loyalty rewards at the moment, this might be as close as we can get to that.
What will they be about?
So, for them, I decided to not go for specific characters or references and neither go for "2 male and 2 female" or "4 female". They will be 4 ideas, or concepts if you will.
There are many interpretations for the Four Horseman, so I made a mix between them and created my own.
Each of the Horseman will be a Mask. Anonymous and genderless.
Conquest is the First Horseman.
Inspired by the Roman Empire as the symbol of conquest and dominion, this character will represent domination in its dark form: slavery, submission , lust for power.
Standing on a river of blood, walking among chains, withered remains and death, Conquest is dressed in noble purposes (roman-inspired decorative armor), but its rotten at its core.

War is the Second Horseman.
I loved studying the Sengoku period, so, when the second horseman was described as "civil war", that was the first to come to mind.
This character will represent war in its brutal, bloody, merciless form.
There is no functional thought here, every detail, even the mount, is there just to evoke brutality, rage and ruthlessness.

Famine is the Third Horseman.
Since I've skipped the first one as plague, this horseman will represent every possible natural vengeance upon the human kind.
With a withered, decaying body , Famine's mask will be inspired by tribal masks and the decorations will be as close to nature as possible.
Death is the Fourth Horseman
Since I already have a Grim Reaper, I wanted to stay away from the classical representation of death with a long cape and a scythe. Instead, to match the other horseman, it will be a warrior, a death knight if you wish, bringing death upon humanity with every means possible.
We've all been working tirelessly to bring you up this massive update, so we hope you will be excited as much as we are!

Great designs as always. Especially the conquest rider with the roman touch 👌🏻 Would be great If the famine would be a knight too but thats just my opinion. Keep up the great work, one of my fav. creators for 3d printing

The idea of horsemen comes from the book of Revelation in the New Testament. Here's what it says, "I looked, and there was a white horse! Its rider had a bow; a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering and to conquer. When he broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature call out, “Come!” And out came another horse, bright red; its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword. When he broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature call out, “Come!” I looked, and there was a black horse! Its rider held a pair of scales in his hand, and I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s pay and three quarts of barley for a day’s pay, but do not damage the olive oil and the wine!” When he broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature call out, “Come!” I looked, and there was a pale green horse! Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed with him; they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, famine, and pestilence* and by the wild animals of the earth. So the riders are associated with Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. However, Conquest and War seem to be kind of duplicates, and since pestilence is mentioned as a way the riders would kill, in most popular depictions of the horsemen Conquest gets replace by essentially a new rider, Pestilence. That Ernest went with Conquest which is a nice call back to the origins of these cultural icons. *Pestilence/plague/disease isn't actually in older greek manuscripts. It's something that got added later.
Un,,,, "Conquest"? Shouldn't that be Pestilence? Love the first image of the mermaid in the dark (ie, the first image is blank). And then we get into some bondage. Bondage with a mermaid; you're ahead of your time, Ernest..... All tongue-in-cheek; no harm intended. Seriously, you're a damn good sculptor.........
