BTS Update #6 - Drag Race Burnout
🕑 Added 2023-05-06 18:33:20 +0000 UTCWhen doing a drag race, the normal intro cutscene is different; you have a small amount of time to warm up your tires. You are fully in-control of your car but you can't turn or go backwards. So you actually have to do the burnout correctly, it's not automatic.
Warming your tires to the correct temp will give you a grip boost on the start.
There's more people around the start of the race in this video, that's because this is a high Rep race. The amount of characters around the start goes up the more Rep you have.
Pretty much final, I'd like to make a more complex camera animation for the burnout but no time. Recorded in editor.

atm AWD/4WD cars don't do burnouts, but you can do a hard launch which will give a bit of tire temperature. AWD/4WD have good launches anyway, so if allowed them to do burnouts they would be OP :)

Are AWD/4WD cars work the same? From a RL perspective it would be kinda hard, but i mean games like Pro Street for example also let you do burnouts with AWD

no worries+ really can't say for sure, but I'm certain it'll release this year.

When’s the rough demo date hate to bug you about it

There will be multiple maps of different types and sizes. To do a loop of the demo map in a fast car(600hp+) is about 6 minutes depending on the route you take. (That's an educated guess)

Dude this is actually insane. How big is the map expected to be? (Free roam aspect)

That was my starting point! Always thought Pro street drag races were cool

Awesome! Reminds me of NFS Pro Street
