Development Update #35
🕑 Added 2025-11-16 19:10:25 +0000 UTCHello! This update mostly consists of a short gameplay video. A lot of work is being done right now on importing all the cars, so I need to get back to doing that.
S15 handles well, new handling is snappier loss of grip and much more acceleration when traction is lost. It's much easier and very satisfying to chain drifts between hairpins.
Screen shake on impact has replaced all VHS impact effects the prologue had. They had a charm to them but were mostly annoying. The final version of this will have some visual effects along with the screenshake but that might come post-release, for now it's just screenshake.
All new music has been imported, the list of new songs is listed here below.
Speed music fade needs a little more tweaking but has been changed to fit the lower-speed touge environment.
90% of wheels have been imported, the rest needed some fixes. Current count is 300, final count will be very close to 400.
A few new crew character models have been made, total new crews which have modeled characters is 5. A femme character model has been made as well.
Photomode wheel blur models have been improved a lot, they look much better now.
Work that remains, in order of priority;
Importing of new Cars for AI (in progress, all JZX100s have been imported. JZX90 next)
New Crews (Needs new AI cars and dialogue)
More race routes
Private Alpha scripted intro
Import other new garages
Many small fixes

Testing can still start next month but it's important for testing to start before the LATEST the first week or so of December for release to be on target. Work is full crunch to make it happen, but if we run into any unexpected challenges the timeline will change. We are in the final stretch for the Private Alpha, so any timeline changes will be a matter of weeks.

As Jem stated in Development Update #33: "The most active among you will get access to closed testing." I imagine this is referring to those active in the Discord, but I could be wrong.

I understand I sound desperate, honestly I am, but I really wanna play the private beta, I run the (Modified nightrunners playlist(Currently delisted due to not leaking the new playlist)) and I have fallen in love with this game since the prologue came out. I understand I am very unlikely to be given the priv beta as I have subbed very recently, and that those slots should be given to people backing you since 2020. Many thanks and I can't wait for the next update.

But why? That just ruins the surprise of the new soundtrack for a lot of people. It's better if they just experience it in-game rather than just randomly finding out about it on a youtube playlist. The list is not even public anyways, couldn't you just have waited?
