I know I'm late to this, but I love how this episode made you go into a debate yourselves. But for the milk situation, Davontae is definitely right. Milk does NOT add flavor at all. It's added to things like smoothies and pancake batter not because it adds sweetness but because it gives a more creamy and fluffy texture. For smoothies, you add sweeteners like vanilla or honey; for pancakes, the boxed batter is already sweet. For example, eggs are a savory dish (meaning no need for sweetness at all) and some prefer to add milk to their eggs to make them fluffy.
