I always prefer VN games so I voted for this and I think it would go well with your game too just with some choices offered to players.. But well its your game after all and if you prefer doing it in semi sandbox, i'll still play it haha :D

I find myself constantly clicking through all the room in the house for every time slot, just to make sure i didn't miss anything. That really slows down the story and gets tedious. A bit more VN-like where you are taking to the next location where something happens and you don't have to manually say you go to sleep would create a better flow i feel.
