Thanks Emerald and Tom, great episode! Would love to throw sortition into the mix when imagining and discussing how our current systems could be improved. Eg. i) Well designed and statistically representative citizens assemblies to advise parliament on key policy areas- eg housing, climate, education,, etc, ii) MMPR unicameral house of elected reps with an upper house that is a statistically representative citizens jury to either pass legislation or send it back with notes, iii) local assemblies that feed upwards a la Barcelona, other...?
