I Need to Slow Down

Ah shit, here we go again.
So I spend my days sitting in front of a pc. During the past month or so I worked extra hard to do the remaining work on the update and I easily averaged 15-16 hours of sitting on the daily. While it's not too far off from my usual it's still a lot more straining. My back is killing me and my legs and feet are bloated as hell, more than usual. I decided that it's not worth powering through this and to slow down a bit. Just to spend a little less time in my chair.
I'm moving the release to August 19!
Sorry for the inconvenience. I can at least tell you that the updates for my next game won't take this long. I'll be doing monthly releases because what we have now is not sustainable. But more on all that later, in a post dedicated to what's next.
So I've been chipping away at the outfits and the expressions. Fortunately I can use some of the old stuff so only about 95% needs to be redrawn. I think it's worth it though. We got Gianni now and I managed to give him a very fitting very punchable face. And then there's gyaru Mia! Glorious fake tan and blonde hair, pierced nips and belly! Yay! Should I give her more tattoos? I just doodled around but it does the job.
One more important notice, please read!
Starting next month, I'll enable upfront payment. Nothing will change if you're a patron continously but sometimes I see people dropping their pledge and rejoining a while later. So if you do it like that make sure to join at the beginning of the month, after the 1st, to avoid getting charged twice.

I understand your concern, especially with your previous bad experience in mind. I'm also aware how unprofessional delays make me look every time. Losing the trust of my patrons or alienating potential new supporters is definitely not my goal. Nor it is being compared to milkers. However, only time will tell whether I can become a better organized creator. Looking forward to proving that I can do that.

I'm very chill, thank you very much. This is solid critic of an issue with his current marketing plan and schedule. I don't know why you think keeping silent and not providing feedback would be better for anyone, but each to their own. If this was any other place in a professional capacity it would already been a disaster. Patreon is one of the few places where people seems to pledge and forget, fact is if this was a regular studio for its publisher and they delayed the production multiple times they would prob ditch the studio or cut the funds until it could deliver. If I didn't care about the quality or the game I wouldn't post at all. There is a difference between rushing a release and having the expectation that the creator can uphold a set date he/she himself/herself set. As I said trust should be earned not taken as a privilege. It's NEVER a good idea to constantly move up your release date from a trust perspective, rather don't set a date to begin with. This is solid marketing advice 101 coming from a guy whom have been self-employed for 5 years.

Bro you gotta chill. I'd understand you if BP didn't release quality updates but the thing is his game and each update is quality. I'd rather have a game delayed repeatedly as long as I knew that the developer was doing their best to make it as good as possible which BP has shown he's doing. Have some patience and don't put unnecessary pressure on him.

Find your rhythm man. People work more effectively with adequate rest anyways. You'll definitely get better at guesstimating how long tasks take the more you do them, so this will definitely get better for the second game.

I somewhat agree as well. Whilst I donโt think BP is trying to screw us over, I do hope that this is a learning process and this kind of constant delay doesnโt happen again.

I know that crunch is still practiced very often especially right before a release in the gaming industry. No need for you to push yourself to the max! Take your time and stay healthy :) Oh and the art looks absolutely amazing <3 just don't get to finicky with the tattoos ;D

This is going to sound harsh but just my 2 cent.. Don't put a release that if you can't make good for it. You have delayed it what now? Twice? Trice? You are literary raising the bar up every time and end up doing the same as the tafty tale makers and milking your patreons with "bitties" we won't see for months. You better be sure to deliver a stellar update if you keep doing this. This is not a great way to build trust and quite frankly your promise of monthly releases means nothing if you keep moving up your release date time and time again. While most people probably don't seem to care, trust should be earned, not taken as a privilege. Either be sure to set a date you can guarantee or don't bother setting a release date at all. Do a ETA instead if you are shaky with when you can actually put out a release. I'm obviously not speaking for everyone but I find it hard to put anything more than a token pledge with creators that keep delaying and delaying their releases over and over again. Which is a shame, the game is great and is a bit of fresh air; but I supported tafty tale for like a year without an update: never again.
