🕑 Added 2022-08-05 23:15:19 +0000 UTCI've realized a while ago but now I had to admit it. This update was a mistake in this shape and form. It's clear to me that I won't make it in time for the 19th either. I'd rather not mark another day as the release date so as not to let this fucking clown show happen again. I'm going to drop it when it's ready, which is exactly what I should've told you last time.
The art is practically done, only CG backgrounds and Mia's faces and Riley's outfits are left. I also started writing the dialogue last week and that's what got me to write this post. Because it was hot garbage.
I've played so many H games with shit endings yet despite knowing plenty bad examples of what it's like when you overdo the thing I planned my game to have 9 endings. A game that's been mostly linear suddenly having 9 endings, which to be fair do overlap but still, it's 9 routes written by someone with little experience. What could go wrong.
I wanted the update to be bigger, better than the previous ones and to serve as a memorable finale. A textbook example of how less would be more because less equals fewer opportunities to fuck up.
The next big mistake was that deep down I also wanted to please everyone. So many comments about how great it is that there's a choice to not be a cuck in a ntr game and boom I was fully on board with doing those routes because the more routes there are the better the game is, right? I think the first storyboard for the update was almost a 50-50 between the overall length of good and bad endings when my original plans back in the day only had the Riley GF route as a good ending.
Don't get me wrong, I still think ntr games can have good endings but they should only be complements, adding a different flavour, a slight refreshing note amidst the degeneracy.
Let me also address that CG in the post. The reveal of the final teaser was supposed to be a glorious moment where upon seeing the image you'll correctly assume that Mia will be subject to a big bang theory and thus get hyped af. This post is anything but glorious yet I wanted to show that pic because I obviously promised to but more so because it's one of the best examples of where my time sinks.
I drew her face 3 times. The first took about 3 hours, pretty bad, right? No matter how I edited it it looked trash.
Couple of days later attempt 2:
I spent about 3 hours on it again and would you believe it? I fucking hated it. Nice! The stuff that looks good as a sketch doesn't always work out as lineart.
Thankfully third time's the charm and another 2-3 hours later she had a presentable face. Might be a bit too anime but I don't care.
The point is, stuff like this happens all the time, maybe not to this extreme but there's always something to fix or improve and I only give up on fixing everything once it gets stupidly time consuming.
But all of the above was just related to development time. What I'm actually sorry for is the delays and frustrating you all. It would've been easily avoidable if I just shut up about release dates. Instead I always just set time frames I can't possibly keep, thinking that I would just finesse it somehow and then getting hit by reality that crunching is not a sustainable way of getting shit done quicker.
I thought about why I'm like this and I think it's the fear of not making it. Due to the structure and long dev time of the updates my game only gets exposure for a limited time every once in a while. There's always an influx of patrons then but otherwise the number has remained mostly stagnant. I don't care about making big bucks, only enough to let me go all in on this as a job. But I often feel like the window for that is closing. Most of the successful devs have been successful from the get go. Surely, there's a chance my second game will be well received too but what if it instead only proves further that I'm not cut out for this?
I'm slowly building up my skill but as of now I definitely lack competence. Only having one of those is not enough.
Anyway, this rambling went on for too long. At the end of the day it's yet another delay and me trying to explain shit to seem more sympathetic. Like a freaking youtube apology. Good therapy for me tho. Life's been overwhelming for a while and it just keeps handing me L's.
If I can't drop the game until the end of the month I'll turn off payments.

Thanks for replying to my long comment. I hope I didn't come off as entitled or aggressive. Ah, yes. NTR type A as described by the V.N.D. right? That's the good stuff. A willing Heroine is the Best! Also I didn't mean to put any pressure on you if my comment conveyed anything like that. Mainly I wanted to say any product done to a sufficiently high quality will rope people in, that's how I got into a lot of my kinks. For example the content duo, Majalis, got me into Femboy and Futa content and ironically one of their earlier chapters of "Raquel" mentions cuckoldry, though at the time I glossed over it. The best Revelation of the game was finding out it was a "Zero-Sum" game from the get-go. Finding out that the MC was pre-cucked was a pleasant surprise! I mean It was kind of always there what with first Riley scene then the morning after confrontation with Mia about her past. Oh, and finding out Riley was/is apparently a cuck-trainer? That was something I was looking forward to playing out more. Which is why I was, at first, suspicious of Riley. Speaking of "Zero-Sum" reminds me of a story I read once about a husband who found out his wife and her BFF were sluts in college and, long story short, he has the smallest dick she'd ever slept with. Anyway thank you for sharing this devilishly enticing story with us! I'm excited to see where it lands and for what your future as a story teller will bring us! Seeing such great work makes me wish I had the either the linguist skills or the drawing skills to make such content myself. Cheers!~

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Just to put it out there, I am also a ntr type A enjoyer so that's the kind of content I'm going to produce in the future as well. No blackmail, no hypnosis and certainly not rape. It's the gradual process of corruption and the heroine ultimately falling, in other words the journey is what makes ntr for me. Granted the girls here have already been somewhat corrupted from the get go so I'm just as curious as hopefully everyone else is about how well this aspect turns out to be in my next work. Rest assured, I only plan on making the best god damn version of my games ;)

*Blegh* Formatting error. *Spoilers* *Essay/Rant* Yo Just joined the Club! *wave* TLDR; So I grabbed up v0.9 of this project like, ages ago and just the other day binged the whole damn thing. I'm talking all night like 8+ hours. I was very impressed by the quality and direction of the game. Sure there are things that could be better, and things I either wanted less of or more. Yet overall it was a very enjoyable experience.(TLDR) (Rant starts here) The Riley GF (Good End?) route/path was a very pleasant surprise on my second playthrough. Honestly even that ending *could* end in NTR but at least one "good" ending is always nice. That said after reading this post I had to say this, Most NTR stuff is garbage. I for one love the more "Hardcore" stuff the issue is that most content confuses Hardcore with "extreme." Of what I have played and experienced with this amazing medium is exactly that. A solid Hardcore NTR experience that doesn't fly off the rails with some fetishy or extreme content. As ridiculous as it is to say NTR is best in a simple yet refined state without to many extras or unnecessary extremes. Those things have their times and places. But the simple scope of "Your girlfriend cheats because she loves big dicks" Is all one needs. The most important part of good NTR content (Or any content imo) is the characters. I started out loving Mia, then hating her, and now I'm undecided. Riley I didn't hate but wanted to as I expected her to be the "Bad influence" that assisted Mia in her cheating ways, only to "fall in love" with Riley as a character later. The main character is, okay, I guess? It's hard for me to talk about him. He's to normal. Like wtf does he do? Just work at the theater and play CoD all night? Don't get me wrong I'm very much a "loner" and "Introvert" myself but even I don't spend all day at a job I hate or playing video games, especially when you have a hot girlfriend. Although it is different when your girl is into the same stuff as you. (Riley best girl fight me.) I suppose that's the point however, he's meant to be "milktoast." lol As for the guy, whatshisname (no really I don't remember his name), meh I'll call him dickboi. So dickboi as a character is contemptable enough to hate but not in a cliché way. He's not using blackmail or drugs (As far as I know) he's just a rich(?) asshat with a big figure and bigger ego I don't hate dickboi, I hate everything he stands for, and yet my favorite NTR scenario is always SizeQueen X SPH. Talk about being a hypocrite, lol. I mean my #1 NTR scenario is the pinnacle of "Hardcore NTR" The literal definition of cuckoldry, someone else knocked up your women. I digress. This is were most NTR content goes off the rails for me. They insert some plot McGuffin to take away the females characters agency or responsibility for the situation. The best NTR doujins I've read have had fully willing heroines, no drugs, no blackmail, and no magic(hypnosis) just people who want to fuck! lol. Nothings hotter then someone being so lustful and desiring of another. That alone makes this leagues ahead of other NTR content because the story doesn't suck ass! lol. So my two cents Mr.BootyProfessor? Do what you thinks is best for this story and it's characters. Wrap up all the extra ideas, contents, and dreams that don't make the cut and implement them somewhere else. Stay true and focus on YOUR vision. I can't understand wanting to appease the crowd and honestly fuck'em. A strong high quality product will take you further then any amount of pandering ever will. P.S And yes I DO write my own stories, in case the criticism comes up, and no I don't draw/animate. I suck at creative endeavors, not an artistic bone in my body. lmao. Have you heard of NTRman? I loved his first work Adelaide Inn. just about everything else he's done I've hated. He also seems to suffer from crunch and long delays, though I'm not very active in his community. He eventually made The Adelaide Inn 2 and honestly it was a BIG disappointment. NTRman's content focuses heavily on the extreme aspects of "NTR" to the point that a lot of it isn't even suitable for the term, imo. The best, and really the only good, ending for Adelaide Inn 2 was the proustite route. It managed to keep things jovial and humorous whilst also flaunting the core tenets of NTR. The Inn keeps wife was fucking any and all men, many if not all much more endowed them her husband and yet they still have a harmonious relationship. The rest was basically depression porn. What I'm trying to say is that NTR is a very niche taste and a lot of people are looking for either something quick and dirty or something incredibly specific. Don't give up hope and don't compromise. Make the best god damn version of your game that you can! - Malgra & LordKorbius.

Feels like burn out. Take a vacation if you need to, relax a bit and return to the game with a fresh look. This art looks good, but to you in your current emotional state everything will look like shit. Rest, man. We all had the before-deadline moments. Nothing good comes out of it. Just look at North Korea. (it's border was written by two men from military who were given a ruler, a map from national geographic and two hours of time to agree on how to divide the occupation zones. True story).

I wouldn't call it an inconvenience since I didn't mind doing some vanilla. Like I said the Riley route would've been the same regardless. The real problem is that there's just too many positive routes now yet none of them feel properly fleshed out. I shouldn't be doing something I'm not fully committed to because it will end up half-baked while further increasing development time. This is another lesson learned.

Speaking as one who hunts for NTR content, of any medium, where the MC is not a cuck as if it's the holy grail, I believe the options already present in your game have done more for this apparently not-so-popular micro-niche of NTR than the vast majority of NTR authors. Further, it seems you did it even though it was inconvenient and not really what you are into. I, for one, am grateful.

Netorare is an oversatchurated genre now. There's so much crap it's hard to find the the good stuff, like your game. Have you thought about increasing the teir prices, like the game is only available in the $3 or $5 teir? Or more advertising? I'm sure you've thought of all this before. I think whatever you feel comfortable doing, you should do.

Yeah, since I usually only show you the final product, you can't possibly know how it looked. It could've been to your liking. On the flip side I might like how something looks while you don't. But in the end I can only make a decision based on what I find appealing.

Yes, that's definitely the way to go. I was just hellbent on making the same amount of CG's for each update. In the beginning updates were quicker because I just drew whatever came to mind, I didn't use references for poses and didn't pay attention to anatomy. When the art started to get better (0.7) I obviously couldn't do that anymore, yet I stuck to making as many CG's as possible when they took 3-4x the time they used to.

Everything about this sounds really rough. The honesty is refreshing, but there are definitely things to learn. The sunk cost fallacy is a real thing, and frankly I think all of her faces were good. Three attempts of multiple hours were probably overkill, but as a Daz user I can totally see how it happens. At some point, "good enough" truly is good enough.
