Download the mod 'litematica', it's a mod used to save schematics.
Otherwise also a schematic file is added for people using only world edit!
Then drop the .litematic files into your schematic folder and VOILA

The world file doesn't seem to load up. It just loads up a default world with no Kame house in sight

You need litematica, thats a mod that lets you put a schematic in it, or world edit. I recommend you to look up for a tutorial for how to use litematica (java only)
