Chat and rumors, introductions and other new functions (0.5.0 preview)

the game gets several new and improved functions with these main goals in mind:
reduction of grind in the early game
better support to start hidden quests, get events and appointments
These changes will hopefully improve the game and make it more fun.
New introduction dialogue
When you talk to any of the regular or staff girls for the first time, a new dialogue will start, based on the girls body type, breast size and height matched against your selections at the start of the game.
The dialogues will be fun to read and the girl will get up to 37 affection points in total. The better she matches your selections, the more affection points she will gain.
As you can see in the first picture, the other girls present at the same location are no longer hidden when you have a conversation with one of them. She just steps in front and the other girls stay on the screen.

Extended chat and rumors function
In addition to the restaurant, the "listen to chat and rumors" feature is now also available in the night bar.
The functionality has been much improved and extended. There are now three categories of rumors. low, medium and high value rumors.
The low value rumors are repeatable and contain basic information about the island, the girls, their mood, or whatever.
The medium value rumors can be repeatable or one time only, depending in the type. You can learn some of the girl's stats, or get informarion about quests, scenes and events.
The high value rumors will send you on a hunt for lost items, or items rumored about. Once found, these items can start an appointment, gain love and affection, or even improve player stats.
Some of the rumors have several steps that build up to a conclusion.
(Basic development has been finsihed for this new function, but new rumors will still be added)
Hidden bonus stats for the player depending on choices and selected girls
Besides the two directly selectable bonus player stats that are already available, there will be some (hidden) bonuses that can give you additional starting stats or other goodies right from the start of the game.
(This new function is still in the concept phase).

Speaking of girls, can I make a point? Why do they have that to call it, but it's not a smile when you're the MC to pick a girl either at the bar or the pool or at the gym? It's best seen on Amy and Ivy. Otherwise, I'm very pleased that you included Doc in the games at the bar. Daniel and Ihope that he wil cntinue in the next updates. It's a very cool figure and you don't need to hide it only in laboratory. It's a shame she didn't show up sooner. Like in the gym, or on the beach while running.

I did see that the others are ready for the next update. This is going to be huge from what I can tell! Just hope you're taking care of yourself while you're working so hard!

A big parts of it will make it into 0.5.0 already. I just havent't gotten around to updating the development news with it.

Re-reading the post, I'm going to guess that the hidden bonus stats for MC will not be a part of 5.0? Not that it really matters, as long as we get the titfights! REALLY looking forward to that!

I can understand what you're saying about the girls disappearing. The way I always thought of it was you and the girl you choose would step away from the others for a little privacy. Oh well, six of one, half a dozen of another... As for Eva, if I knew an apology was coming, she'd be back on the island.

The rumors at the bar is just a new action with an icon you can click on. It won't influence the interaction with Mercedes. About the other girls still visible in the background. It always bothered me that the other girls seemed to vanish into thin air when I talked to one of them. I wanted to fix that. I think it will just take some getting used to, but looks nier overal in my opinion. About an apology from a girl not on the island. Currently this is not posssible, because only girls on the island can send messages or interact in any way.

Always great to get an update! As I like to start new runs for new releases, the bonus affection for girls matching my preferences is nice to hear. I usually manipulate my preferences to get certain starting girls, but I may just have to align my preferences to Yumiko for that bonus.

I don't suppose there will be an apology from Eva in there too? Not really expecting it ever, but it would give me a reason to call her back to the island. I have to admit I don't know how I feel about having the other girls in the background like that. The way it has been has always seemed more intimate between MC and chosen girl. One final question. With the new rumors now at the bar, does this mean we won't be able to talk to Mercedes anymore when there's not a lot of people in the bar? Or will we still be able to when the bar is empty?
