Change of Plans
🕑 Added 2017-09-07 05:33:57 +0000 UTC It's about time we do some housekeeping. Initially, we promised the finished Dark Matter book only a couple of weeks after the In Progress version was released, yet here we a couple of months later. We've also delayed the release of the Channeler class, which by now is complete and has gotten plenty of playtesting, and the Revised Shugenja, which fixes many of the issues we experienced during playtesting. Now that we have a reasonable idea of how large High Seas is going to have to be (read: it's sizeable), we've decided to push back that project (and all subsequent projects on the docket) by a month to focus October on getting some things finished, principally Dark Matter.
So this month, instead of High Seas, you can expect to see a finished Dark Matter, Channeler, and Revised Shugenja. Then next month, we should be poised to have a bigger and better High Seas book.

Do you guys think ya'll could make an import of Shugenja/other classes for the app like you did for the Warden? Seems like a awesome alternate way for us to utilize the amazing content you guys put out

That's the hope. We've got at least one more Dark Matter /thing/ planned. I'm plotting and planning -- it's going to pretty big.
Mage Hand Press
I'm glad! It feels really good to finally have a version of it I'm satisfied with.

We strive for at least electrum XD

I hope we don't disappoint. At the very least, you'll have some really great art to look forward to.

Oh super excited for the Shuhenja changes

I'm excited for this. I hope this means that there will be more frequent updates on the Dark Matter universe. If it'd help, I'd love to attempt to contribute what I can.

The quantity of changes ended up being smaller than I expected, but they'll have a fairly large mechanical effect on the class. We reworked the way Blank Scrolls work to be more interesting and we implemented a cap on the total number of spells you have have recorded in your Master Scroll, to reduce the total power of being able to choose /any/ spell you know for your Blank. Plus, a few small changes, I think. Hopefully, it'll improve the play experience across the board.

What kind of changes will be coming from Shugenja? Is it closer to balancing or just a general overhaul?

Super pumped everything you guys release is gold!
Quality over quantity. Take your time, don't feel rushed we don't mind and know that it will be worth the wait.
Mage Hand Press
I have no idea why, but Patreon likes to hide that one from people. It's kind of a blessing in disguise, however, since we discovered that the shugenja didn't playtest super well (and that might have been the playtester's fault, but we decided that it needed a revision, regardless.) The revised version will also get a blog release, so it'll be really easy to find.

To be honest, I wasn't able to find this class for the longest time. I first heard of it in the expansion, and I had no idea it even existed.
Mage Hand Press
You know, we didn't end up changing all that much about it, but the things we changed were really balance-shaking, and should fix a lot of problems.

Revised scroll magic should be interesting. I always enjoy alternative spell casters.

Oh, I know. My players are just mostly excited about the setting, which is the part we're mostly missing. What we have so far is amazing though!

Quality takes time and I think Mage hand is all about quality. Do what you have to do and i know the wait will be more then worth it.
Micah Sweet
I cannot wait for Dark Matter! My players are champing at the bit!
David Fitzwater
It's all good guys, I know it'll be well worth the wait, you guys always release high quality stuff.
Christopher Schroeder
No complaint here. It's hard as a creator to delay anything, but I'm in favor of you guys getting your feet back under you.

Keep up the great work, Finger. Mage Hand Press is definitely my favorite source of homebrew content.
