I think it's worth noting that the blaster in Ezra's lightsaber appears to function exclusively as a stunner. I feel it's only a violation of Jedi teachings if they were explicitly taught to eschew practicality.

Yeah it's design decision, just like much else that is different in Rebels. I think some of it is good, others not so much

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure the thin lightsabers are just the art style.

Jedi use the Force for defense, not to attack thats why they don't put blasters on their lightsabers. Lightsabers can deflect and even vaporize blasts and other weapons. Lightsaber are only to be use as weapon as a last resort because they can always first using things like the lightsaber as a shield, the force and mind tricks but like Jen said the times are changing and jedi are being hunted which means they have to take a more offensive stance to survive.

That's really fascinating, Dawson. I'll definitely check out the article. The concept of nostalgia, in general, is genuinely interesting to me. I feel like there are so many movies and television shows that I watched over and over as a kid that I liked, but when watching as an adult, I loved, for entirely different reasons. Action scenes used to draw me to certain projects, but now, all I need is a good dialogue scene between characters or thematic imagery to get me excited (I still love action scenes though lol). I actually think one of the reasons why I loved 'Andor' so much was because of that. Sure, the show has action sequences, but the show, as a whole, is more dependent on the dialogue and conversations that occur between characters. Because the writing was so good, I was never bored at all when watching.

As someone who is a big fan of 'Rebels' and has watched through the entire show twice, I always felt that season one was just okay. However, after seeing Holden and Jen's reactions, and watching the show for a third time alongside them, I can confidently say that season one is actually much better than I remember. It's pretty amazing how different viewings over time can drastically change your perspective on certain pieces of media.

Jedi Temple on Lothal and its surrounding landscape is heavily inspired by early Concept art by Ralph Mcquarrie's. Lothal Capital City itself is also inspired by early concept of for Alderaan but was never used. Pretty much everything on Lothal is pulled from Ralph Mcquarrie's unused art work for A New Hope. As others have pointed out the thin lightsabers are just an artistic choose inspired by the depiction of Lightsabers in Ralph McQuarrie's original art work. No lore in universe reason but I guess you could look at it as the artwork we see in this show being painted by Sabine Wren so we the audience are just watching an animated retelling of these events in her style. Cannot wait for Season 3 the most but all the seasons have some amazing stories, Actually think Rebels is much easier to get through compared to early Seasons of Clone Wars.

For me it‘s the other way around: While Mando is good to chill after a hard work day and you don‘t want to think to much, you can perfectly enjoy the atmosphere. On the other hand: Andor has way more depth, so that you always find something new for you after every rewatch.

I love the idea that during the almost 20 years between RoS and Empire that Yoda after witnessing the death of thousands of his friends just started working on his comedy routine. Like he had the whole pretending not to be Yoda routine planned out for decades 🤣... also I know the lore reason please don't feel the need to flex your knowledge 😉

I'm glad it's only going to be 2 seasons, short and sweet. They are already starting production for Season 2. Easily the best since Mando. Still prefer Mando, think it's more rewatchable but this is just superior television

Came out of nowhere! I was hopeful when I saw its pretty much the same crew who did Rouge One which I loved really much. The writing blew my mind how good it was. Layered story, complex characters with so much depth that I have not seen since the early seasons of GoT. Visually stunning with a great soundtrack. Absolutely loved it, waiting for season 2.

To produce quality takes its time. I wouldn‘t mind if the producers would take even 5-10 years, when the second season then hits harder even more.

The lightsabers are like that because they are based on Ralph Mcquarrie's work. Essentially most stuff in the show is. For anything that looks slightly different from usual, the answer is Ralph Mcquarrie.

I could not agree more. 'Andor' was absolutely magnificent. The only thing that sucks is that we have to wait until 2024 to get the second season.

Can’t wait for the finale reaction! Also I know y’all are swamped with SW content at the moment, but when you get a chance you definitely should check out ‘Andor’. It’s easily the best written show on Disney+

Before I started watching Rebels, I really hated on the thin lightsabers but they’re pretty cool. They make the fight scenes feel more like swordplay rather than big beams of energy. Also Holden. Love the shirt! 🔥
