well as a New addition to the Hardman Patreon Family hello and i can't believe it took me this long to join š„° p.s Boston i my favorite of the 2 fur babies i love Falcon too but there is something about Boston's funny facial reactions that cause instant deep belly laughter š¤£š¤£

This is the reason why she wouldn't accept it in mandalorian. When she accepted it the first time she failed as the ruler.

Now you know how the rest of us felt at the end of Mandalorian season 2.
Dawson
Nah, EA knows they are on thin ice with Disney after the Battlefront 2 Release... that was bad but they turned it round, BF2 is actually pretty decent obviously nothing on the original bf2

Was surprised by the first one tbh, coming out from under EA i expected a disaster riding hard on microtransactions. But it was really good imho the best SW game EA ever touched. Really looking forward to the next one but a bit scared that now being a high-profile game they will manage to fuck it up for everyone.
Dawson
Wasn't to bothered about playing it for content, asking as a fellow nerd š
Holden Hardman
Yeah, just hard to get any long form gaming right now on my end, but I'd love to play it when it comes out! I did play Fallen Order when it came out and even streamed my first time playing iirc. But I played the rest on my personal time. I'm excited for Survivor though!

I believe he said he will be playing it already, but with the upcoming family stuff it might be hard for them to record/stream it, so it might be a game he'll play in his free time or sporadic uploads. I also believe he has said he has played the first one, and very much enjoyed it. I could be wrong about the second part, though. Fairly certain I'm right, however.
Dawson
Hey Holden, any idea if you'll be playing Jedi Survivor in April? And if you played it what were your thoughts on Jedi Fallen Order?
Dawson
It was implied by Maul in Clone Wars, confirmed in Rebels. Popularised in Mando/Book of Boba
Jonathan Ma
Thatās not accurate. We see Maul win the saber in combat in Clone Wars; we hear Ursa Wren state this explicitly in Rebels season 3. The rule has been consistent. Bo breaks the rule here, becomes leader, and her rebellion FAILS. That leads to what we see in BOBF and Mando, where Mandalore is wrecked, And Bo blames herself for taking the saber without combat.
Jonathan Ma
I think you guys may have missed the forest for the trees a bit - The Mandalorian rule has ALWAY been that the Darksaber must be won by combat for the wielded to be recognized. That was stated in Clone Wars And in Rebels season 3 when Sabine showed her mother the blade. Bo accepts the blade here, without combat. We see that her rebellion FAILED, leading to the events we saw in BOBF and the result we see in Mando s3. Bo Katan and other mandos remembered she took the blade without winning it, and then followed her and got s,ashes. Thatās why they blade her, and thatās why she refuses to accept it AGAIN without combat in the Mando s2 finale A lot of people are confused and think Boās acceptance breaks the rules; instead in context of everything we see, her acceptance here EXPLAINS what happens next and reinforces the rule.
Christopher Struthers
Bo taking the Darksaber here fails, she didn't earn it properly. Many Mandalorians rejected her claim. Ultimately Mandalore fell and it ended up in the hands of the Empire and now Din. That's why she wouldn't accept in The Mandalorian, she failed and doesn't see herself as worthy unless she wins it properly.
Dawson
I really hate how stupid the empire is... like in what universe would you think Sebine would ever fix your doomsday machine?.. and not do exactly what she did, I know its a kids show but omg there so dumb. Also yes they should have killed her parents and oh ma lord Ezra is annoying
Frederik Jensen
The tradition that The Darksaber must be earned in combat was made canon in The Mandalorian. And the Mandalorian came after this episode.
Frederik Jensen
I love it when Boston watches as well. I hate that weapon. Sabine made this when she was 14? The Empire allows tenagers to make deadly weapons and nobody else could understand it but her. And how does it take 5 seconds to make it target a specific type of plastic instead of a specific type of metal.
Jonathan Foreman
Holden you're getting dangerous with these one liners. Nearly killed me in this batch of episodes.
Jacob Ember
I'll never forget watching "Heroes of Mandalore: Part 1" at Star Wars Celebration back in 2017 with Dave Filoni and the cast. This was also the panel where Filoni announced that season four of Rebels would be its last. To this day, going to that panel with my dad was one of the best experiences I've ever had as a Star Wars fan.
Brett Napier
Unpopular opinion but I donāt love these two episodes. Love Rebels, seeing Bo is great and more Mandalore lore is always welcome. But the villain is forgettable, action and locations are bland in my opinion, and Sabineās mom and brother actually not dying is such a cheap cop out. But so excited for the rest of season 4 and canāt wait to see your alls reactions!!!
Jacob Plourde
The Mandalorian great purge that we hear about in the Mandalorian show happens a little while after this episode, offscreen. After the events of this episode, the empire returns to Mandalore to wipe them out as punishment for the rebels actions. During the purge, Bo Katan loses control of Mandalore and Moff Gideon somehow gets the darksaber. Thatās why they believe Mandalore is cursed, because Bo Katan was given the darksaber and didnāt win it in combat leading to the purge. This is also why she refuses the darksaber when Din offers it to her in the Mandalorian season 2 finale.
