Upcoming Changes to this patreon
🕑 Added 2018-06-04 20:16:39 +0000 UTC Heyho everyone,as most of you by now will be aware of, I'm planing on making some significant changes to this patreon and my stream in general.
I think first of all i want to make absolutely clear that nothing is set in stone and i very much want to hear your opinions and inputs on this.
With that being said:
Saturday Request Streams:
- Cooldown period after winning a Request be it a month or two so that hopefully more people can win, get intrested in participating and eventually get a request finish, also i would be able to take abit more time per request.
- Making the Saturday Request Stream patrons only starting at 1$, i think this one would only make sense once patreon allows me to charge on sign up since otherwise people will have to wait a month before i can let them participate, it would also mean that the regular request stream shares alot of the issues the sunday stream has, mainly that if sunday or saturday happen to be the first days of the months the fees won't be processed.
Super Special Sunday Stream:
-Do more Patreon Streams instead of Saturday Streams, basicly creating more value for people signing up. Shorter Cooldown between wins compared to the regular request stream.
Tiers & Goals:
-3$ Tier i'm playing with the idea to recommend people to use reference featuring only 2 characters instead of 3 because of the following changes to the (new) 5$ Tier and 10$ Tier
-5$ Tier patrons get to vote on one of the requests of the month to be finished.
-10$ Tiers only requests from patrons of this Tier will be able to be voted upon. I would do some curation based on who won the months before and what i think overall are the best quality sketches.
Or in the case of no 10$ patron winning a request picking from the 5$ Tier request based on sum contributed.
Also a thought: 5ers get to vote, 10ner get to be voted; versus 5ers get voted and only 10ers vote. Both approaches have their pros and cons.
-20$ Tiers, so far the 20$ Tier only gives access to the PSD files and while those are very precious to me overall the value currently is just not there for people to be intrested in this. So for now i'd like to try for those patron a "0 request cooldown " policy. Effectively meaning that while they can not get a free finished image every month they do can get sketches weekly with some luck.
-200/250$ Goal, to this day we sadly never managed to cross this boundry and alot of the changes are my hopes to finaly make it over that line.
basic idea is that once this goal is met 3 characters are feasible again to be voted upon to get finished once per month.
Those are all the ideas I currently have to change the patreon and create more value for my supporters. Please let me know what you think and ideas you have!

It might depend on if making the saturday streams patreon-required will make a cooldown period uneeded

Some Thoughts: -Cooldown period after a win seems like a good idea, especially as the wheel pool grows and things get more crowded. More request finishes and time to flesh out sketches a bit more is always a plus as well. -As the patreon pool grows, it makes sense to me to have more wheels be patreon only, but also seems like a decent idea to keep one or two a month free to attract new blood. Maybe do the saturday wheels as patreon only and do a sunday wheel or two as freebies? -The '$5 votes and $10 gets voted on' approach sounds to me like it'd leave a big void in the $5 tier, because who wants to vote on something you can't actually have a chance at being picked for? I'd also hate to see a particularly well-done sketch get excluded from the pool just because it was a lower pledging patron who requested it. $5 can be in the pool of potential sketches, but $10 gets to vote seems like it'd be a more even spread. Might not even need a $3 tier at this point as it wouldn't offer much in the way of value vs. two extra dollars a month. ¯\_ツ_/¯ -Reducing the cooldown per tier seems like it could be a decent idea. $20: No Cooldown - $10: 1 Month - $5/3: 2 Months perhaps. -Paying for a request finish instantly resetting the cooldown sounds like a great incentive. Overall I think the changes look great and i'm psyched to see 'em go live.
