pretty much what I've always done! Previously though I would only do thumbnails with an actual "frame" for projects where the piece would get printed, but rarely ever do it for digital pieces, yet any time I do it I feel the piece looks better than when I don't plan the framing/cropping!

I will often put my doodles and thumbnails on a canvas, and whenever I find one that's good I duplicate the whole thing and erase everything else to work on that one
