I don't really spend much time investigating souls-likes pre-release because the interesting parts of the genre are so incompatible with being presented via trailer or press release. And that's on top of how I don't really pay much attention to pre-release hype for games to begin with aside from registering that the game exists and what its release date is.

I'm glad that even with the expansion in variety and allowingnof long rpg style games in the nominations, people still tend to gravitate towards the two genres I consider your foundation which are puzzle/explorative games and soulslike games. Speaking of such, have you seen much of the Code Vein game that is in production? The gameplay prerelease footage looks like they have quite a bit of tweaking to do with mechanics and other items, but it seems to have an interesting and fairly solid concept. Thoughts?
