Yuder saw Kanna and Gakane's faces overlapping in Edin's face. Their appearance when they had been perplexed after noticing unexpected facts yet worried about Yuder looked exactly like Edin now.

"It's all thanks to you that my ability could develop this much. You even helped our entire branch now. So you're my benefactor... and it's right that people shouldn't do ungrateful things that might put their benefactor in danger."

The one who greeted Yuder lost in thought was Captain Welliven of the knights, smiling broadly.
"Welcome, Baron Aile. Did your business at the branch go well?"
"Yes. But why are you out here?"
He had only asked because it was strange that someone who should be working at the Peletta Knights headquarters at this time was out near the castle entrance stables, but Welliven smiled even more broadly as if he had been waiting for the question.
"I was waiting because I thought you might return around this time."

Edin isn't wrong. Kishiar's reputation, regardless of the events in the West and the South, and being known as the owner of the Divine Sword, is still low in the eyes of the people that try to hurt him - he's a profligate, a libertine, a useless, pretty- faced rake. Nevertheless he's the brother of the Emperor - he won't suffer from being with Yuder. While Yuder isn't weak by any means, and I don't think he needs people to protect him or his reputation, I'm still so glad he has the Cavalry members rallying around to shield him from people who would harm him because they can't get to Kishiar, simply because he's still a commoner in their eyes, despite the new title.

Look, I love my babies, Kishiar and Yuder; they're a god-tier couple and I'd read this story *just* for them. But nope, the author went the extra mile and included all these amazing side characters with interesting, interconnected relationships to the MCs. It gives so much life to the story, I just want to sit and bask in these tiny moments of wholesome fluffiness that have nothing to do with romantic or political plots. It's downright soul-cleansing. ☺️

I really like all of the positive changes Yuder is seeing in his second life, and the real comradery and friendship he now enjoys. I think it's funny when people approach him about training bc I know he will leave them exhausted and crying for mercy, but they respect him and would do it again. I am curious to see how he goes about letting the Cavalry members know about his relationship with Kishiar.
