WELL YOU KNOW WHAT, you’re correct, I wasn’t really a fan of the show when I first saw it because you know, character design, When I started watching show and started seeing the Alola family bison its was phenomenal, and again one of the few instances Where I generally wanted Ash and Picachu to stay there because he’s straight up had a family there And the ending was actually sad , so while I still love the XYZ family a lot,I Agree🐸🦉👍🏼

If we're talking about family specifically, I have to say, his Sun and Moon friends (that series as a whole) gave the most family-like and home-like feel

Well the victini movie.. the plot is the same but its just either reshiram or zekrom but both would appear in the movie anyway. And yes kyurem is the best one for the bw movies. He really gotta watch them

I'm glad that you felt the same as me that the XY companions are the closest besides Brock. Four regions with that guy is pretty hard to top in friendships. I also felt like Ash was just close with people in general in XY, SM for sure did it better. But SM in general is a whole different experience and story. Compared to previous seasons, he got pretty close with all of the gym leaders in XY.

Good luck picking which of the Victini movies to watch And kyurem was the best of the BW movies Im sad they started doing AU movies in SM But they did get everything in the series still If I have to pick a favorite movie It either be Movie 3 or the Manaphy movie

I will say that I am very happy to see some Pokémon reactions again and extremely happy that it’s my favorite region/season XY/Z Now here, some stuff that you may have missed when it comes to the character Ash, this is much more mature, but still goofy Ash Hes Competed in many Pokémon tournaments and have face with many legendary Pokémon, including a Pokémon God Altogether with Pikachu and they have met many friends Along the way,And ash FUN FACT, is a little superhuman because he has Arua/Chi Either way when it came to the reaction, I had so much fun with it, especially when you were talking and being surprised by a lot of the things, And again there’s a reason why many people says this is their favorite region when they came to the animation and Ash family(Yes I said Family because this is his Closest people yet) And get used to the amazing fight scenes because that’s where the animation really shines and I can’t wait to see how you feel about this new journey And I hope you have a great day/stay safe💛🐸🦉💙

I think he should watch all the movies. I don't like some as much but I think watching all the movies is just as good as watching the seasons. Heck, Sorta Stupid did that for a while but stopped for some reason.

You don't really need context for XY either, just like most seasons. If something does refer to previous seasons, they make sure we are aware where. Every season has that few boring filler episodes. I really love SM but XY is just better. I get everyone has their taste but you can't say that XY is bad because that's just wrong. I watch shonen anime, One Piece is my favorite anime of all time and XY has never once gave me shonen anime vibe. Ash seems to really shine through because this was basically his peak. (I can't go into more details for spoiler reasons) His experience and skills really shine especially after BW, his personality influenced many people in XY. SM is different as in everyone in the group influenced each other. And in SM he didn't really have an end goal, he just wanted a summer vacation then he learned what he could do then he did it. And to reply to some of your comment from the other post. Ash is idolized because of how much he influenced them into growing to the person they are at the end of the season. Ash feels like an grown version of himself so idk why you feel like he is off. You just like bad writing then because there is clearly way more than the gym battles and they also felt more meaningful compared to other season. It did felt like he make really legit good connection with them. And because Ash had the least amount of Pokémon out of any season, before SM and Journey also having the same amount, so it did feel like he made a huge connection with his Pokémon. I would say that they had the most similar personalities to Ash which also made his own personality shine even more. Serena is the best girl of all, she is actually interesting. And yes the concept of her wish is similar, but the showcases are pretty different compared to contests. I really wish I could add spoiler marks so I can go in more details why she is easily more interesting than most of Ash's girl companion. When it comes to music comparing English vs Japanese, English will always win for me because I can actually understand the lyrics without needing to read. It hits harder when I can speak the words.

And if anyone thinks im too negative on XY Sorry I like other series more SM is gonna stay my favorite series and I recommend CBLOOM watch it at the same time Cuz u don’t need much context for SM It takes place after XY but its a completely different tone of show for most of it The SM honestly has more dark and depressing moments the beat XY easily

XY just has quite a few boring filler episodes in the middle area Just because the show has to show off all the Pokémon of the region Its not my favorite series at all But im not into its heavy shonen style I just prefer other series in Pokémon Also where u watching this Cuz in the dub of XY 1 of the episodes in the 20’s got postponed in air date due to a real life situation So be careful Hope u enjoy it CBLOOM

In my opinion, take away all the nostalgia and I believe XY series is the best pokemon season in the anime.

XY, the season that turned Ash Ketchum into a badass. You can see how far he’s come since his rookie days. And yes, Team Rocket are a staple of the series.

Yeah and that's just the start of it, you can see already why so many people call XY peak Pokemon. And if you know that you will never watch the older seasons then you can check out a youtuber call Zachtoshi's reviews on the older seasons. I still would highly recommend Diamond and Pearl. Also Black and White and Sun and Moon but they have pretty meh starts so their second half is just better overall. This is just MY recommendations for Pokemon to him. Seeing how he didn't seem like he enjoyed the first season and already enjoying this season so much more, I know for sure he will enjoy Diamond and Pearl. BW and SM are toss ups but I loved the second half for both, I thought they more than made up for the first half.
