Dp continues to be goated. I think by the end o the series bloom would love dp more than xy. It is true that xy/xyz has better battle animations when compared to a much older series like diamond and pearl but outside of battle wise xy is pretty stale while diamond and pearl is really well written in terms of story wise and everything else. Even the DP movies was goated so imo I love DP more than xy and y'all gotta admit that xyz pretty much carried the whole xy series or it wouldn't have been up there.

They also said that Wallace from being gym leader he became champion of hoenn ( aka the strongest trainer there). But if you remember from xyz, Steven ( the guy with the shiny mega metagross) was called champion of hoenn. Which means around the xyz time, Steven got 8 badges, won the hoenn league, defeat the hoenn elite four in the champion league and win against Wallace which made him the new hoenn champion.
