That's so funny because "Labyrinth" is my sister's all time favorite movie. I just don't remember the sequence in "Labyrinth" looking nearly as well done as it appears in your work. Must be the aesthetics. ;-)

Thanks, Blake! That's wonderful to hear. I had the idea to do something like this for a long time, but it took a while to find the right format. Then I remembered the "Escher scene" in the movie Labyrinth. I made a copy of that set. So, to be entirely fair, all credits should go to the artist of that wonderful movie ;o)

It's great to see Harry back; he's definitely my favorite. But I have to say that the background artwork in Escherland is incredible, it practically steals the show. Your rendering is seamless and all the little nuances of Harry walking along and seeing himself walking upside down or ascending a set of stairs in the distance is so realistic I almost feel like I were there. Although if I were there I probably wouldn't be focusing on the architecture... at least not right away. ;-)

Hi Erik, I've had a quick look at the possibilities to make Harry printable in 3D, but I'm afraid that my model is not at all suited for that. There're several tools to convert the character and to adjust and fix some errors and omissions, but that reshapes Harry into something hardly recognizable, with no hair nor gents. So, for this to work, I would have to create a whole different model from scratch, and I’m afraid that will have to wait until another time :o|

I was 20 when 2001 came out and couldn't wait for a sequel. It was a long wait, but well worth it. I have DVDs of both classics. Worth watching the full length of both. Imagine the possibilities of sending our hunk to Europa to meet space aliens similar to the aliens in The Temple for a new interspecies romp extraordinaire?

Thanks, Erik, that's a very interesting question! I have no experience with 3D printing, nor equipment for that. But I have a look around, to see if I can convert a Harry model into a printable format. I'll definitely come back to you on this :o)

2001 is rather obtuse, typical Kubrick. The movie made little sense to me until I read the book. The sequel, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, is better as a movie and it's where the quote about Europa comes from.

1968 and I was 17 (now 71) and I saw Stanley Kubricks 2001: A Space Odysee. 2020 and you are taking me back there: thank you, magnificent. However that story had its own twists and while there was also an astronaut running around the perimeter, he didn't look quite like the one you offer us nor could we study him in all his beauty. I wonder where this will lead us. "All these worlds are your's now exept Europa..." What a scope!
